Next Kitchener bar crawl, you are so coming.

I have spoken!

I went that one time for kicks and tried to leave early but got stuck there. It was alright. Yes variety IS the spice of life...I mean going to Edm jams EVERY weekend for 3 days in a row constantly gets boring fast.

As for the picking up aspect it is how it's described...there was a better article about it I read in Metro or 24, one of those papers. Basically it said how the club scene downtown is a farce mostly because it creates an illusion of how the guys going out to clubs have an obligation to pick up (and the women to look whurish and slutt aka 'good'). When they don't, they end up all angry and angst ridden out in the street. lol Meh, that's how it is.

But it does matter if it's drug-induced. Once you add that to the mix, you don't need to be at a club anymore, you can get the same vibe in somebody's basement (and actually that tends to be a lot more fun).

Ah, the all-too-familiar battle cry of the intellectually helpless. I was wondering how long it would take for me to hear that on this forum after coming back to some occasional posting.

For such a vapid comment, you get an equally vapid response: trust me, I get it. I get it more than most people here get it. That's precisely the reason why I see the rivalry as being so incredibly hollow.

As goes one of my favourite quotations:
quote:
You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake
You are the same decaying organic matter as everything else
We are all part of the same compost heap
We are the all singing all dancing crap of the world

I don't really agree with the sentiment that both scenes are the same but to draw a line and say "this scene is better because" isn't right either. It's all about the setting you feel comfortable in and how you have fun and there is no way to rationally validate your experience over someone else's.

Nothing beats Rev main room on a Friday night! So much hilarious stupid shit goes on, it's fackin awesome haha. Even purple room gets the drunktards in there from the main room and makes it even more hilarious lol

I love how this article insinuates that everyone gets married and has kids at the ripe old age of 25.

Reading this article just made me realize how old i am
I miss clubbing when i was 23! Aahhhh... to be care-free again!

Digi, it's obvious your not alone in your beliefs on this subject and it is equally obvious you don't need anyone to validate your opinion but I can't help it..

There is, hands down, no other public place I feel more comfortable/relaxed in. There are always plenty of shenanigans, regardless of who's there. I don't think I've been to another bar where that kind of ruckus ensues, without someone being kicked out.

...throwing tables over randomly, tossing entire drinks (in glass) behind you into the crowd...

And not getting kicked out.

PS: It wasn't me that did those things.

a lot of people think that about the club scene, and some of it's true. my point is that the good parts are better than any good parts in the barscene. i'm cool with people picking up, and doing whatever they like, in fact..have at it i just dont like being in the middle of it. and in the afterhours, i wear even less clothing than i would at a bar, and rarely get bothered. it's a comfort thing for me.

i agree with stereotyping, and therefore disgress my comment, calling them all filthy. i do feel however, the majority are...not because they get a piece of ass, just the feel of the environment (also, with no good music, makes me more miserable), and the going about of doing it.

It's true there are a lot of annoying sketbags at afterhours, but i'll take them over the drunks on most occasions.

In my 8 years of partying in both scenes, i prefer afterhours any day... for several reasons.

With you 100%
