I'm spending a TON of time on this thread

Speaking of Alanis, I can't find her video for "Fate (stay with me)" anywhere. She was about 14 at the time and I met her at the CNE during her soundcheck, I had NO idea she'd become so huge.

AJ, you showed me a picture of you at a gig in the 80s once, dust that one off and let's see it again

OH! I forgot to add ... Erasure! ...but I saw them at Massey Hall last year

I'd like to add a couple of my favourites not listed in this thread yet...

Scritti Politti - Perfect Way

general public - tenderness

Erasure - chains of love

Erasure - A little Respect

OMD - Secret

The Dream Academy - Life in a Northern Town

^^^ Does anyone want to help me remix this track in a more modern trance one? I've been meaning to do that one for ever.

Posted by kotsy on Apr-26-2008 22:47:

How could I forget this gem...

Joe Jackson - Steppin' Out

Posted by tatgirl on Apr-26-2008 23:45:

Echo & the Bunnymen- People are Strange

Psychedlic Furs- Pretty in Pink

Suzanne Vega- Left of Center
(no embed available)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZNCnfS5SeY

You Spin me Round- Dead or Alive

Posted by musicsnob_NOT on Apr-27-2008 00:31:

Ok don't think any of these have been posted.

A overlooked REM song which when it came out I loved.
REM - It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

One of my favorite songs of all time. Still listen to it today.

Kinks - Come Dancing

And I really can't believe no one has mentioned these two bands and singer...if someone has I missed it.

Queen

RUSH

Finaly probably the most influential musician there will ever be in my lifetime. Some of his best work was prior to the 80's but the 80's were still pretty good for him. He is still making music I listen to.

DAVID BOWIE

Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke (the other half of Erasure, and one of Depeche Mode's founding fathers) have reunited as Yazoo, and are just about to release their new album "In Your Room", and will be goin on tour again.

Here's their recent interview a couple of weeks ago;

Seeing Vince at Massey Hall last year felt like witnessing a legend at work.
