omg i would die without the internet in my apt.
but at the same time, i have no problem not having it if i'm doing something cool like an exotic vacation. if i was chillin in fiji with a pina colada and a sexy man, the last thing on my mind would be TA or any part of the internet lol

).
I can be without internet at home but as a whole I still need some steady internet access options or else I am disconnected.
It's almost reached junky status because right now I am looking to get a new calling plan for my cellphone and it's all focused around getting an internet plan. My usage on the celly is minimal regarding calls and internet ( I call for less than an hour a month and do maybe 5 megs a month of internet ) but I just gotta have the internet.
It's funny because I was discussing this with my parents and my mother thinks internet on the cellphone is pointless yet my father insists I should have it because I've saved his butt so many times. ( Including mine ... google maps email etc w00t ). I go out of town/country a lot and I need that option. If I wasn't nearly as mobile I most certainly wouldn't.

" I work for so and so magazine, used to see you at these classes at the local uni and saw you at various press conferences" uh ok ... so you recognized me when you happened to stumble upon me on facebook? | Originally posted by The17sss Hmm... I guess "bad taste" was a poor choice of words. I just got annoyed really fast with the whole "myspace fever" that was going on. People were talking about it way too much and it started to get under my skin. I was living in Orlando at the time and I'd start to recognize people I'd see on myspace at bars/clubs and stuff and wondered if people recognized me as well. It seemed like almost every girl I'd meet or talk to would be a myspace freak and keep yapping about what songs were on their homepage, how their friend found photos of her boyfriend on some other girl's page, and so on. Maybe it was just over saturation, but I wanted to rid myspace from my brain asap. I just figured my time would be better spent in other ways. Although, it was pretty funny seeing the countless pages of dudes trying to pose down in front of the mirror and take their own pictures. |

When I got my new apartment a few days ago, I had to decide whether to get Internet access for it. I decided not to.
Strangely enough, I miss it very little.

Believe me, I just returned from Cancun and as soon as I saw my computer I felt shitty. I'm not even talking about partying all the time and relaxing, but while I was there I'd met people from different parts of the world and I'd realized nothing at all compares to human beings bonding and being together (not on the internet but in life!). Perhaps I may yet move to Mexico city - me and my traveling companion talked about it. Such a different lifestyle...rather simple - go to work, meet with some friends after for some beer, and the day is done. Nobody is rushing to and fro, everyone works at their own pace, and at night they gather in the streets or by the beach somewhere and have some beers and laughs without worrying about getting a deuced ticket for drinking in public. They may not make a lot of money but they certainly seem less bound to the shackles of everyday existence than we people in the States are. I'll end this now. Back to reality, eh? |
