Two trance tunes that i remember liking the lyrics were those two. Not that they were any special or clever, they just used to fit with the atmopshere of the music.

BIG +1 on BT being a pretentious wanker.

I don't know about "meaningful", but my favourite lyrics are from The Streets - The Weak Become Heroes (Ashey Beedle's Love Bug Vocal Mix).

Normally I can't stand that cockney singing, but for this song, it tells a great story of club land and raves, and getting on the gear for the first time. The actual music itself is brilliant too.

PQM "You Are Sleeping" has some of the most awesome lyrics I've heard used in a dance track up to this day.

You pick up this working girl who's hooked on smack, who hustles and scores, that's all I do she says, she says 10 bucks for head, 15 for half and half, she says, 3 hits a day at 35 per. You say thats 7 tricks a day at least but she says, sometimes I get lucky, once this guy gives me a bill and a half just to eat me, only time I ever came. You figure you can save her, you sell your color TV that keeps her off the streets a whole day, you hawk your typewrighter for one jolt, then your shotgun, your watch, a week later you say listen I'm a little short, but she says no scratch, no snatch. You say look, it is better to give, but she says, be gone - creep. One night they spot you on the street in your skivvies, tryin to sell your shoes. You tell them who you are but they nail you, then she happens by and she says, Christ you look fucked, she says, hang tough. But you don't say anything.

You just think what a bum wrap for a nice sensitive guy like me.

Oh yeah i remember that, haha great indeed. But this was more of a monologue rather then singing. Still very good indeed.

Yea most of the lyrically great trance songs are remixes of another genra - im thinking stuff like wayoutwest - mindcircus and sarah mclachlan - fallen.

There are some exceptions though - i think that the lyrics from Paul Van Dyk - New York City are amazing
