I agree that Montolivo should be selected, never rated Ambrosini.

The midfield is almost identical to the world cup squad except for Ambro and Aquilani who I think will play an important part in the euro.

No complaints about the strikers selection

Just watched the highlights from the friendly against Belgium, Italy looks very strong. Di Natale and Toni are going to be a great force!

Can't wait for this week

He'll be missed for sure. He would have certainly done some damage down that left flank.

difficult group to make some predictions. I've seen Italy play against Belgium past friday and they were pretty impressive. The oponent had off course something to do with this. Belgium played with a lot of young unexperienced players against a team with loads of experience (most of the players were older than 30). So I guess Italy will make it to the next round.

From the others I'll pick France as most likely runner up. They have a strong team and as with the WC they could come far. The Netherlands also have a good team but didn't really impress in the qualifying round and lost two times against Romania.

France & Italy, for the same reasons as above.

cannavaro out of the tournament apparently

Posted by The_G0dfather on Jun-02-2008 20:06:

yes, and ronaldo also slighty injured

Patrick viera is carrying an injury as well.

Their dropping like flies.

I don't think so, otherwise our national sport websites would be full of flashing popups with big red letters, and our TV channels would make direct broadcasts every 5 minutes with updates of his physical condition.

France and Italy are already going mano-a-mano even before their anticipated match with both injured skippers

Very true. I think he'll be on fine form this summer, but not enough support from his teammates to go all the way.

Goddamned, Robben is unjured again. Not ure for how long yet but h'll certainly miss the first game against Italy. Thats the second winger injured...

A shame, nothing makes a game more attracting than wingers like robben & babel leaving their man behind time after time.

Oh shite

Luckily the Italians have to miss a few good players as well. Their team spirit might be damaged too

Look at theses pics I've just found : http://designyoutrust.com/2008/06/0...m-new-warriors/

Robben will also miss the second game against France and maybe even the third encounter against Romania. His recovery should take seven to ten days.

Lets hope Van Persie remains fit.

Whoever loses tonight is out, plain and simple. Will be an interesting night of football.

I don't know about that. Italy always starts slow in any tournament, and they had such a miserable time qualifying... I don't know if they can get their momentum up before the first round is out of their reach.

Typical! France team asleep or what? That was one terrible match, but they are team for tournament, bad start, maybe good ending. But.... My favourite team is Italy! And I was angry, when I look at that group. Look, Group D is quite easy, another two too, but this is really "Group of Death". Oranjes are simple unbelievable. Nice play. But it is enough? I am not sure about Dutch defensive players.... Perfect ofensive, grandpa van der Saar is also good, but D-mens?

should have betted on my prediction!!!

hahahahaah

Posted by noikeee on Jun-13-2008 18:26:

Everything is far from over here. If France win tonight, anything could happen in the final games.

Posted by chorche on Jun-13-2008 20:48:

I have 2 wishes: Next match must win Oranjes and Italy. That is only way for "Squadra Azzura" to reach elimination rounds. If Romania draw, it will be very bad, but still not hopeless. Only extremly bad.... For Italy....

group of death? NO! group of dearth!
