July 1 was supposed to be the last day for WEMF2002 EB ticket sales, however because so many stores are closed today, we have extended the EB ticket sales for 2 more days! You can get EB tickets at any outlet that has not already sold out or at any ticketmaster outlet and tripledecks.
There is a complete list of outlets at www.wemf.com
Only 1 month to go!!
Peace and thank-you for the support shown so far!

Is the venue going to be released soon?

Venue info
The location for WEMF2002 is in the picturesque town of Bobcaygeon, Ontario. See www.wemf.com for exact location. Bobcaygeon is approximately 1.5 hours northeast from Toronto. If traveling by car or RV, please see the maps and driving directions at www.wemf.com. We also suggest you consult www.mapquest.com if you are traveling from areas not listed in the directions on the site.
By shuttle bus, the travel time would be slightly higher approximately 2 hours. If you plan on taking the shuttle bus, please see the shuttle bus schedule posted at www.wemf.com.
We are happy to announce that both the town and police are welcoming this event into their community. We've fine tuned and addressed every logistical concern we could think of over this past year, working together with the town of Bobcaygeon and the local authorities to ensure that this is the best WEMF ever!
Improvements for WEMF2002
Scheduled shuttle service from Toronto to THE FRONT GATE of WEMF2002 no more hauling your stuff from the drop off point to the entry gate!
Posted shuttle bus schedules and vastly improved service no more guessing when busses are scheduled to arrive and depart Toronto or the event!
24hr Parking lot shuttle to whisk you and your stuff between your car and the front gate as well as back again when you leave and multiple shuttles to ensure a smooth flow of fun!
Marked and lit foot paths throughout the music and camping areas
Increased door staff to speed entry into the event no more slow lines!
FREE shuttle bus service to and from the downtown of Bobcaygeon and local beaches throughout the day on Saturday.
Vastly improved event grounds with DOUBLE the amount of camping area from last year through the addition of neighboring fields no more hunting for a good spot and a much cleaner and organized layout!
Full support from the local authorities and the town.
Free potable water for bottle refills!
Improved RV parking with electrical hookups (available for advance booking through Ticketmaster) RV parking is on-site this year, not in the parking lot!
Large licensed area for those with ID.
Extended Sunday schedule. Hey, Mondays a holiday in Canada and now you'll be able to rest and relax before your trip home!
Skate Park & Water Works need we say more!
Please note that the driving times listed on the flyer are incorrect. This is a result of a venue choice we made after printing. When the planning for WEMF2002 began last year, we wanted to ensure its success by obtaining all necessary permits well in advance. We did so at a number of spots with the idea in mind that we would make the venue choice closer to the event. After some problems with last years spot we did not initially feel we would have a smooth ride at our first and best choice the town of Bobcaygeon. In what is obviously a benefit for all involved, we were pleasantly surprised when the town came back to us and welcomed us back into their community. As it turned out, the town of Bobcaygeon and the local authorities made this an easy choice and one we know you will appreciate.
Ok now that we know it's in the same town as lastyears.... the question is, Is it at the same location (camp grounds) as last year???
OS/2 - Can you please answer my PM?
Thanks in advance

CHRISTOPHER LAWRENCE
www.christopherlawrence.com:
The winner of the "BEST DJ" award at the DANCESTAR USA 2002 AWARDS and one of the highest ranking American artists in DJ MAGAZINE'S prestigious "TOP 100" DJs of 2001, Christopher Lawrence is recognized worldwide as one of the World's top DJs and producers. Dubbed "A SUPERSTAR DJ" by the US's MIXER and "ONE OF AMERICA'S MOST INFLUENTIAL DJS" England's MUZIK, Christopher Lawrence is one of the biggest and most respected names in dance music today. Voted #6 in BPM MAGAZINE'S "AMERICA'S FAVORITE DJ'S" list for 2002, Christopher has graced the cover of America's MIXER, REMIX, JIVE and XLR8R, as as well as Britain's WAX and numerous other magazines from around the globe. A headliner at the world's biggest clubs and events, Christopher was the only US DJ invited to headline all three of the inaugural MINISTRY OF SOUND, CREAM and GATECRASHER tours of America.
Inducted into UK superclub CREAMs SUPERSTAR DJ hall of fame in 2001, Christopher's production skills, coupled with his ability to take international dancefloors by storm with his tough progressive and sleek techno trance sets, place him in high demand worldwide. Described as "ONE OF THE BIGGEST NAMES IN THE DANCE SCENE" by CNN, Christopher headlined some of the world's biggest tours, events and clubs in 2001 including CREAM, COACHELLA, RENAISSANCE, CREAMFIELDS (UK), CYBERFEST, WEMF, CREAM IBIZA and NOCTURNAL WONDERLAND, as well as tours of GREAT BRITAIN, EUROPE, CHINA, MEXICO, CANADA, BRASIL, PERU, KOREA, SOUTH AMERICA, NEW ZEALAND, AUSTRALIA and JAPAN.
Dubbed an "AMERICAN PROGRESSIVE HOUSE PIONEER" by MUZIK magazine, Christopher became the first US artist to be signed to Scotland's cutting edge HOOK RECORDINGS in 1996. With a discography of groundbreaking tracks played by DJs from PAUL VAN DYK to JOHN DIGWEED, Christopher's critically acclaimed releases such as 'NAVIGATOR', 'INTERCEPTOR', 'RENEGADE', 'RUSH HOUR', SHREDDER and 'CRUISE CONTROL' have taken the US and European charts by storm as well as earning numerous accolades including his massive track 'SHREDDER' being named MUZIK magazines "VITAL RELEASE" of the month. In 2000, 'RUSH HOUR' not only became Christopher's biggest tune to date, but also the fastest seller in the history of INTERGROOVE US. Christopher's new single "MIND ERASER" due out on MOONSHINE in early 2002 is expected to break this record. Christopher's widely anticipated debut artist album is also expected to meet widespread critical acclaim when released in mid 2002.
In the late ninties, Christopher also established himself as one of the US's biggest selling CD artists, following a string of record breaking DJ mixes including 'RISE', 'TEMPTATION' and 'CHRISTOPHER LAWRENCE PRESENTS HOOK RECORDINGS'. In 2000, SPIN magazine described Christopher as a "TRAILBLAZER" following the release of his best selling "EMPIRE' for America's legendary MOONSHINE MUSIC. In 2001, Christopher continued to smash sales records when his new CD 'UNITED STATES OF TRANCE' debuted and remained in the TOP TEN US DANCE CHARTS alongside MOBY, CHEMICAL BROS and FATBOY SLIM. Christopher's newest mix 'AROUND THE WORLD' is expected to break this record in 2002 - again establishing Christopher as one of the World's most popular and respected DJs.
Consistently described as "ONE OF AMERICA'S AND THE WORLD'S TOP DJS", Christopher's overwhelming success has been hailed by the international press with cover stories and features on MTV and CNN, as well as in major international publications such as BILLBOARD, URB, MIXER, XLR8R, SPIN, THOUSAND WORDS, CMJ, D'VOX, REMIX, MASSIVE, BPM, REVOLUTION, DMA, INDUSTRY INSIDER, MIXMAG, ALTERNATIVE PRESS, DJ MAGAZINE, WAX, MUZIK, 7, IDJ, PLAY, TEKNO RENEGADE, TRIBE and KLUBLIFE to name just a few.
In the world of international dance culture, there are DJs who are leaders and those who are followers. Christopher Lawrence is a leader.

Graham Gold:
Graham Gold - Autobiography
My musical roots lie deep and intricately with all things good! After all, I started my DJing career in 1969 (that's sixty-nine!), when the business was simply a glint in the industries eyes - not the monolith we now see before us. Back then it was a different game, but some things remain the same and are timeless - like me!
Throughout the Eighties years of glamour and (in)excess, I was resident at Gulliver's - London's premier soul club - and I was part of The Caister Soul Weekend, The Radio London Soul Night Out. Furthermore I presented the soul show on Capital Radio and I was on all the major pirates - except Kiss. I also wrote for Blues And Soul. I liked keeping busy and involved in all aspects of the music scene apart from the turntables.
In the 1990's I joined the Kiss FM team and was a regular on late night dance TV show BPM and Club Nation. I set up the Good:As label with Giles Sawney, my partner in crime to this day, and we established a management division looking after the UK diaries of Ferry Corsten and Armin Van Burren amongst others. Yeah, I was, and still am very busyI have co-promoted Peach at the Camden Palace, where you can find me each and every weekend! I love Peach, the crowd down there are fucking nutters, and they're always up for hearing something new. At Peach we've had guests the caliber and as diverse as Judge Jules, Paul Oakenfold, DJ Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Armin, Guy Ornadel, Chris Fortier, John "OO" Fleming, Tall Paul and Breeder. And of course, I still play all the country.
I've done more mix CD's than I've had hot dinners, selling over 700,000 copies, including solo mix CD's. I love doing mix collections which haven't been TV advertised as they are always pushing the music forward. Though that said, the Retrospective Of House I did was also great fun, they all reflect the happy vibe I've experienced around the globe. They're a good snapshot of a particular sound at a particular time.
I've played at most of the big festivals - Homelands, The Love Parade, the Essential Festival in Brighton and Glastonbury, Overseas, I have had the extraordinary pleasure of spinning around Sydney, Perth, Auckland, Wellington, Jo'Berg, Cape Town, Durban, Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, Haifa, Toronto, Vancouver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Shanghai, Singapore, Honk Kong, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Finland, Denmark, Malta, Majorca, Ibiza, Cyprus, Crete, Rhodes and more all the while - in fact if there's good scuba-diving to be had within 100 miles of a great club chances are I'll have played there already!!
I don't just DJ, I also like producing music in the studio, and over the years I've had the pleasure of remixing for Carl Cox, Shawn Christopher, Alarma and 2HD. There's my own stuff as well, and my productions are set in my agenda as a priority for this year.
I guess my peers have kept me going over the years and of course the occasional accolade helps. I can't be that bad as I've been in the Top 100 Best DJ's In the World in DJ Magazine for five consecutive years! I am regularly featured/quoted in the UK dance paparatizi and I was even included in the special Gold Edition of Vogue Magazine, which was nice! Throughout this fairly whirlwind thirty years, I've learnt that something can indeed come from nothing, and all you bedroom bedlams out there keep on playing, creating and doing what you do because one day, it could be you!
People say that I am an effusive personality both in clubland and "on-air", and I guess it's all down to my genuine love of the music, along with a good work ethic. I know where I stand on the circuit and know when I can get somewhere. I communicate at all levels, and my address book bulges with the details of club promoters, DJs, record label bosses and the oh-so-necessary international all-night pizza delivery joints.
I love playing music, and I love my Vestax decks. Unfortunately, I've only ever played one club which has Vestax! I use them all the time, I use what I feel is right, anyone should. Don't always listen to others, review your own records, and decide what you're into! I love making the music I play. That's the biggest buzz. Any one out there who is trying to get into this game I would advise to stay true yourself and do what you believe in. I've given fairly unknown DJs the chance to perform at Peach, which remains London's longest running house night. Young up and comers need to be nurtured, but it's all about hard work and gritty determination. It doesn't happen overnight!!!!
I like to think that I've championed all the great genres of dance through the years including jazz-funk, rare groove, timeless soul, labels like Strictly and Nervous back in late '89/'90 and even hip-hop-we were all into that in the mid 80's, even Jules and Tall Paul!!! Plus of course, the harder trance sound that is now common on the UK's best dance floors. However, of late I've become a bit sick of just thrashing the arse off the records, and right now I'm more into more intelligent stuff. I'm a big fan of Bedrock, the label and the club, and if you look at my sets nowadays there are a lot more peaks and troughs than there used to be. And breaks always feature I my sets. But of course, every club is different and I play according to the time slot-but I still play good quality trance too. Now, I broadcast every Monday on Kiss 100 London between 8 and 10pm. The show is completely non-playlist, and I showcase a really upfront selection of quality prog, breaks and trance. Carl Cox has described it as "inspirational" and Oakenfold as "excellent" - top respect to the boys at the top! I believe it's also the most listened to house show on Kiss. Which is nice.
Weel, I'm still considering going because I wanna go through the WEMF experience....but I wanted to know when the headliners for the trance stage will be coming on? Will there be any on Friday?!?!
There'll be headliners on both nights.
just about 2 weeks left. It would be nice to know who's going with whom? how? what days? who's driving up there? who has backed out? undecided? TA campsite? and any details we should know about..so post away TA's
Before you guys get all excited. Last year there was also many
promises made, that were never kept. ALl the promises were implied
with: "No more..." or "Unlike last year...". Just something to
think about.
P.S. 8 hours in the line up
