Creamed ovaries? Actually, that sounds more like a soup.

Purple flavour? Ice cream flavour?

Posted by Trance Nutter on May-17-2008 09:03:

ok so I made the beer icecream recipe I posted before.

Sacrificed a bottle of Boags for the cause.

With trepidation I dug my spoon into the frozen treat, only to struggle to scoop it. Set slightly hard but not a big deal, managed to get about half a spoonful out. Gingerly I placed the spoon in my mouth, hoping for a new delectable desert with which to wow my friends.

Its horrible. It really is phenomenally bad. I have no desire to ever eat such a concoction again in my life.

I've had Guinness frozen custard before, and it was actually pretty good.

That said, I'm convinced this one doesn't exist (despite the hype), because I have searched far and wide and not found it in any DC grocery stores:

Hmmm, is there a good way to ship ice cream?

There are two places here that have it, and Myra and I had it in the house a long, long time ago back when it first made the rounds.

Albertsons sells dry ice. Get this and pack it in there with the ice cream. Just get 1/2 of one of the blocks. that will easily be enough. Put it in a box lined with some sort of barrier between the box and the dry ice. like buy one of those shitty lunch boxes that have insulation.

What's an Albertson's?

I don't think we have those, but I'm sure I could procure dry ice somewhere.

Americone Dream? You've had it? I feel like it is as elusive as Big Foot.

Yup. The first time (and I guess the only time now that I think about it) we got it it was actually just at the Roundy's brand Pick & Save right down the street from our house.

Haven't checked again as we don't eat a ton of ice cream here in the Winter.

There is a restaurant in the East Village here that makes a great Stout Float. not exactly beer-flavored ice cream, but close..

anyways this thread reminded me of Heladeria de Lares in Lares, Puerto Rico

I got corn ice cream when I was there
they have rice flavor, black bean, avocado, garlic, carrot, potato, cheese, sesame, kidney bean, rum, chicken with rice, beef, cod, tomato, etc

im pretty sure they have a Medalla flavored ice cream

next time i am definitely going for the cod

i think i will be more adventurous next time
