Just have a few drinks beforehand. You'll make the person on the end of the line your best friend within minutes.

I just check my current balance and it says$217.37...

They still haven't sent me my statement, so i'm going to wait and see if thats my actual balance before I give them a call! Damn Rogers screwing up my billing!

Sometimes I love Rogers

Got my statement this morning and apparently all the charges were due to daytime minutes that they incorrectly charged me.

They had me charged for 509 daytime minutes at $0.35/min. WTF is that.

Anyway, i called them, they sorted everything out, and got my bill down to $14.97....my normal monthly bill should've been $57.57 so someone I managed to save $42.6 worth

Woohoo

At first they were only going to credit 100 minutes because of a mistake they made, so 409 minutes was still being charged to me.

They then realized that the 409 minutes included weekend minutes ( ) and said they'd be right back.

Next thing they say is they have credited the account for $204 dollars...

Gotta love them!

NEW ROGERS WARNING!!!!

SOOooo... they've done it once again. I get my bill today and look it over. I generally always check my bill, but I did not for July, if I did I would have noticed what was on my bill this month. I see I've got 12$ worth of text messaging charges... to the USA!

So I check last months bill, July, and see the same thing. I check June. Nothing.

So I call and in July they have decided to charge for all US text messages sent (because it is now considered international) WTF

I looked over my bills, no notes that this was happening at all, and the customer service person looked over my bill and agreed that they did not let customers know! The solution: Buy a International Text message package @ 5$ for 25 messages; 7$ for 50.

I'm livid.

In the end, he sorted things out for me, but seriously... absolutly ridiculous. Now I have to monitor my US (North American) text messages and make sure I don't go over 10$ a month in US messages... I understand International but come on....

Check your phone bills....Rogers is up to no good again...

Ok. Done.

/rant

So no a question: how is reception, coverage, etc. for other phone companies?

They posted stuff about it, but they didn't really publicize it anywhere about the International Text fees, only on the internet.

I think I mentioned it in a goodbye thread to Barb and for people to be careful lol...but I guess I should've warned better. Sorry Knox for not providing the info more clearly

I think the other companies are also charging for International Txts as well. Can't remember though.

I did just figure out how to connect to the internet on my Mac using my Blackberry as a Modem via Bluetooth! Now I have Internet anywhere in Canada!

Woohoo lol

To add to those complaints http://news.slashdot.org/article.pl...8/08/26/2037207

The whole cartel of telecommunications in this country is fucked up. Fucked, fucked, fucked, royally fucked up!. Everyone from Bell, to Telus, to Rogers is the same garbage. Every single company is out to screw customers as much as possible. I don't know a single person - family and friends - who has not been somehow robbed by one of these thieves we call companies.

Everything from double billing to mystery charges to dirty bait and switch practices to a $6.99 fee for the bill having been printed in the wrong moon phase. Fuck, it has gotten to such a ridiculous point where you could probably get more predictable results out of nuclear decay of atoms than a cellphone bill. For the past year, Rogers has managed to screw every single request I have ever put over the phone. How are these people still alive?!?!

When one takes a step back and looks at the sad state that is consumer telecommunications in this country, I can't help to feel like I'm getting gang-banged in some cheap porn movie where the dudes are those three comps. They are not only fucking the individual but the long term technological progress in the country as whole. But hey! the jays are doing fine right?

How long until the government does something about this? (ha!). CRTC gets flooded with complaints and nothing ever changes. It gets worst. Business as usual. It is unbelievable that we put up with so much shit.

/end-rant ...where is my medicine ..
