Yeahhh for tonight..Will be there and dance my ass off.. Hope there are some decent drink specials..mmmmmm
I stayed home from work today because I've felt my chest actually get worse the past two days...so no go for me tonight.
Sorry. I need to get betta!
too bad Dave. get well and ill see you for the next one.
looks like its gonna be July 10th.
So Bjorn , how does it work, do you usually have a tracklist in mind or do you select songs as you go. How does the mind of a dj work??
dont really plan my sets, have a few new promo tracks in mind, but depending on the crowd and the time if its right to drop them in or not.
its all about the crowd enjoying what you play, taking them on a journey, building up a pace that people groove too....
also, depends alot on what time you play, open, headline, or close..
which are important factors that will determine what to play.
ive seen too many opening DJ blow it up so much before a headliner that the headliner refuses to go on. people should respect the headliner and know their place and what they are hired to do. pretty basic if you ask me.
very excited about tonight, its going to go off !!!

| Originally posted by INXCESS Yeah the turnout was pretty impressive, I was there at 10 and it was dead...so I was waiting outside and by 10.30 the place was filling up, Plus I was kinda surprised that a lot more chicks turned up than guys.. There were also this group of 7 people who all had fake id's. It was riot waiting outside and just looking at people.. and damm man, it sux we cant even get some chicks some drinks :-p...the bar was all locked up to only drinking upstairs.... |
Thanks all of you for your support. it was a crazy night indeed.
will upload some videos soon. We need to work out some details on getting people in quicker etc etc, lots to improve on for the next event on July 10th. My apologizes to anyone stuck in line outside for too long.
Overall a very successful grand opening... and good tunes indeed.
thanks for everyone on TA that came out to support.
you will all be invited to the next one on our comp list..
Peace & Respect

| Originally posted by michaelconway YES! Dude, that track that I pulled out was going to be Dave Gahan - Dirty Sticky Floors.. It would have ended the night very perfectly! But it was out of our hands, the city of San Francisco has very strict laws for clubs after 2am. Such a fun night though, next time we should have a TA meet up area so we can all hang out! |
that ending was Epic, i wish Michael could have played that track too, it would have been magical, but we had to respect the club and the rules. There is alot of liability issues involved with 18+ and over etc in a alcohol selling venue. We have no room for any fuck ups if we want to continue to do the event there. I think the ending was still great, it will leave people talking about it for a long time...
Regarding the free drink at end of night. Sorry that happened, not sure if it was because they stop serving alcohol at 1.30am, or it was something else. i will follow up with the club to see if there was a cut off time for that drink, cause there was not supposed to be one.
thanks for bringing it to my attention
cant wait to get those pictures sent to me from last night !!!

fun night! much much better than the other ruby skye attempts at thursday nights, like when they do those free nights. turnout was better than i expected, and that's with school out.
crowd was very enthusiastic. friendly vibe, with more opportunities to socialize. barely any professional douchebags typical to many nights at ruby skye, just a couple 18-year old aspiring ones, heh. surprisingly nice female turnout. not at all annoyed by the under 21s. having to drink upstairs wasn't a problem. so really, nothing to complain about, especially for the first time around. and the promotions leading up to the event looked solid all over.
so a nice new choice for me on thursday nights.
and nice meeting you bjorn. i'll post some pics later this weekend.
