Cool

I don't think we need to do the numbers thing as I know all the judges can be trusted and there is no hard feelings between any contestants and judes as far as I am aware. But if there does become a conflict it must either be resolved or the judge must drop out straight away, as the thread may basically die if there is no talk about tracklists and such. I think it would be virtually impossble to keep it anonymous anyways.

Sever space will be much appreciated as ever and will be needed as soon as the first mix is complete

Also this mix is not strictly a classics mix, although it has been decided that classics are recommended just for interest value, but either way your mark will not be effected. Personally, I will be doing a mix with tracks from 1999 and 2000 But at the end of the day its your choice and could make it more interesting for the judges

Posted by Dave_Masters on May-20-2002 14:53:

Personally i think mixes with numbers should DEFINITELY be implicated. Before this vandit bullshite did you think that there would be a conflict between you and him, enuff for him to downgrade you?

But hey its up to you, but i dont see the harm in inplying it, cos its not much effort

Posted by Luke Terry on May-20-2002 15:19:

Cool

hehe, but the plan is fukked from the start as ste and fly will know which mix is gibbos, and prolly mine as either gibbo or ste will upload mine. and then one of them will be uploading cable's aswell, plus we all talk to at least one of the judges anyway, so i cant really see how it can be kept secret. i say if conflict does arrive, boot the judge instantly.

Posted by Dave_Masters on May-20-2002 15:24:

ah, i see your point lukey

But im still in favour.

Personal Opinions = Poll.....

Posted by Luke Terry on May-20-2002 15:28:

Cool

OK, put it to vote. All contestants must reply, bugger u judges, lol. I think this is a thing for the contestants to decide anyway. Say whether u are for or against the anonymousness. 1 last point, if some ppl dont upload for whatever reason it will become more obvious who is who....

nice one luke

Posted by t0ast! on May-20-2002 15:35:

just to respond to luke's concerns....if someone who's not judging (perhaps me) made up this 'numbering' system, it wouldn't matter who uploaded what mix. they'd be renumbered & placed into different directories. only one person (the one who made the scheme) would know who did what.

in the case of me doing it, i'm not telling anyone...i'm all for this contest being anonymous. when the scores are posted, i'll PM each person with their respective number...hows that sound?

Posted by Dave_Masters on May-20-2002 15:37:

sounds good to me!

Posted by Luke Terry on May-20-2002 15:41:

Cool

well, as soon as one side of the poll reaches 11 votes we will kno the future of the anonymousness of comp

Posted by Luke Terry on May-20-2002 15:43:

Cool

Out of topic, would you consider Dreamland a classic yet LMAO

Posted by eieregooie on May-20-2002 15:44:

I'm FOR, well actually I'm neutral, but since I have to decide...

lol me was thinking the exact same thing!

but i used it in my last one so it would be abit silly to use it again.

Posted by Leander on May-20-2002 15:47:

I am for anonymousness...

Also, if needed, I may be able to provide some server-space.
I am currently building a new server. It is not rich in diskspace, but probably can host a couple of mixes. This one is on a 10 Mbit/s link. I have another server that could host one or two mixes.
This one is also on 10 Mbit/s (in the near future maybe even 100 Mbit/s)

Cool

Another point, you are going 2 have a fair idea of who the mix is by due to the ch00nz they play, and as there is no way of imposing the classic restriction really as it is not accessible 2 all formats, ie vinyl, it may be obvious whos is whos, namely mine and DJRavemonkeys as no1 else plays nearly as hard as we do.

Posted by flystyler on May-20-2002 16:08:

Well i think the judge can mark fairly, i know i wont be giving any bias. And i am getting a second opinion from a dj mate anyway

Kinda averaging the scores

Posted by AndiH on May-20-2002 16:59:

just a suggestion before you guys start mixing: please don't play 15 anthems in a row...nobody wants to hear tiesto's set at energy2k just in a different order...

there are so many underrated and unplayed old tunes

and i think the mixes should be anonymus

Posted by Haak on May-20-2002 17:20:

I'm for anonymous mixes

Posted by DJ Sarah H on May-20-2002 17:21:

God damn u guys move quick, i thought u would give it a couple of weeks b4 mix comp 3 lol.

Anyway I am reporting for duty to judge

PS: Good to see u in here too AndiH

Posted by gibbo on May-20-2002 17:53:

i'm against neutral since some of the judges know some of us too well and have heard us mix before and it will be easily apparent who's mix is who's to then so if some judges are gonna know identitites of the mixers then they all should.

Posted by DRM on May-20-2002 17:59:

Hmmm anonymous or not doesnt bother me that much, as people will almost definatley be able to tell my mix from evry1 else's this time but i think it would be kinda cool revealing the tracklists at the end to others. So i really dont mind hehe

So do I. So it's a rule, No broadcasting your tracklists until the results are released.
