If there's one thing I'll say about this event...
it will be this:
This event isn't only about raising awareness about this terrible disease, it's about standing against it as a unified community...
I could honestly say that I saw this unity on Saturday when everyone was dancing their hearts off on the dance floor...
I consider myself very fortunate to have been there...
Amazing night....
Congrats to Dave for putting on such an amazing event.
Justin put up some pictures of our shirt!!!
Dave!
Kudos to you for organizing this event to support such an important cause. The night was fantastic and I expect it (and future events) to be nothing but massive successes.
Thank you again for all your hard work. I am glad to have been in attendance!

ps, as for the pictures of the survivors of cancer, let me just rectify.. it wasn't that, it was actually pictures of my mom for my set. it was a dedication set and i wanted her to be there to here, she can't be present in body... so i figure an image would satisfy me... i knew she was there in spirit and every track i threw down was aimed at her for some deep subliminal message (in example, dreams by stevie nicks (deep dish) was the repeating of "listen to the sound" for her to listen carefully to the sounds and words in the set) I apologize if it sent you down a trip down memory lane, but that kind of was the point... no reason to kill your buzz friend, you can remember good times, regret the bad... and live for the moment. I miss my mom huge, trust me, seeing her pic ripped me up more then anyone in there... but it served a purpose, a reason to why i was there. I always tell people who say they came to support me, support the people you lost to cancer, those who are fighting, those who beat it.. those who will. The video was my way of remember why i do this, why i go to dance 2 da beat... why i created it. as much as people think I created the event for me and im behind the event, nah man, you're looking at the reason, the creator, the inspiration when you looked up. again apologize if it hit u the wrong way, but maybe if you knew why it was there... you could have appreciated it for what it was and not what it made you think of. also, my condolenses of your mom... but remember the good times, appreciate the time you had with her and not all the time you lost.... i had my mom for 24 years of my life..... 24 years i wouldn't give back for anything on world, i miss her.... but appreciate that time and those moments more then anything in this world. sorry, she HAD to be there. Ace REVIEW coming later, still wipppppped but wanted to respond to that. |

What a great night for a great cause. Acer rocked it out and the place was going BONKERS!!! Great crowd and the Vibe was amazing. Wow was it ever hot in there, I have never seen the smokin section so packed.
We need Dance 2 tha Beat 4 soon!!!
Review time
Had aimed to get their EARLY and catch at least half of Jon's set BUT 3 girls plus 3 open bottles of wine and only one mirror in our tiny ass hotel room kinda made that impossible
BUT we got there literally just as Ace was going on and am SO glad we werent running even a minute later then we were. Ace ur set was amazing! Completely blew me away and the time flew by. Every track u dropped was amazing and I wish so much that i could go back and live that again. The vibe there was like nothing i have ever seen. So much energy, so many amazing people, sik sik beats and such a good cause.
The heat was ridiculous in there and the roof rained on us the whole nite but really it didnt make a difference. I could not have asked for a better nite and am so happy to have been there
AND am seriously considering flying back for next years D2DB4!!
Little late, but better then never...
Incredible evening. Everywhere you turned there was a smile on somebody's face. Music was top notch from beginning to end.
Dave's set was so uplifting....everyone was just gathered as close to the front of the room as they could get. Once again...smiles everywhere. You made a lot of people....including your mom up above....so proud that night.
I was proud to be a part of this memorable night....putting our dancing shoes on for a cause... A cause that has brought so much heartache and pain to so many people.
Congrats to Dave and everyone who put this night together!
Party of the summer for three years running now.
Nothing EVER touches the vibe of D2DB; cake, pink bracelets, cake, birthdays, cake, custom t-shirts, cake, dedication sets, cake...
Ace, got nothin' to say but "I told ya so" bro - never had any doubts that this was the year where footwork wouldn't be able to contain the raw awesomeness of D2DB. Well except maybe to join everyone else in awe of your set. Incredible dude, brought tears to my eyes (like many others).
RESPECT!

Dance 2 Da Beat Review - My Eyes.
Alright folks,
-- Part One -- Prior to the Event
Getting it all started, I started leaking the flyer for Dance 2 Da beat early because the original plan was to have it in February. We had the i's dotted, t's crossed... and just waited for a signature by one John Aquaviva but it all came crashing down when he ended up taking a booking at circa, no harshness to circa but it sucked aquaviva jumped ship.
It was a little disappointing because I had jumped the gun and told some people our planned headliner only to say "no, sorry... no go." After weeks of "regrouping, refocusing" with the higher ups at Guv who were working with me to sign a headliner, I got the call....
"Hey bad boy, ace... we got him!"
"HIM" being the number 1 on my list of oh about 8, Guido Schneider.
That list STILL in use for other Dance 2 Da Beats so I won't ruin who
else is on it!
I had first seen Guido at DEMF in Detroit the previous year, I enjoyed his set and I knew when Gui Boratto's asking price was WAY out of anything close to D2DB acceptable, to move on and work on GUIDO.
So Guido was signed and it was time to fill the cast of characters around them. Since D2DB 1, The Vinyls and Roaches have been a VITAL part in creating the event, this year, no different as both were asked to return and both agreed with pleasure. We decided to bring back Trance Addict vs House Addict as the theme has ALWAYS been one I enjoyed, showing a true community in the event. This isn't my event anymore people, it's Torontos... want proof? Take a look at the amount of MSN names, Facebook pictures, Facebook profiles, the amount of people donating gifts, donating time.... hyping this event. At this point, I'm just it's organizer, it's turned into a machine by itself.
So, Jon Jon vs Irgo, Roaches, Vinyls, Guido ... amazing base, but we need more, I needed this to be the BIGGEST, BADDEST ever.... ENTER IN Alicia Hush and YM. Two of the hottest up and comers making their DEBUTES at D2DB, also three people i definitely consider family (four when you count the lamb, cause when there is a hush, there is a lamb and I was stoked they were part of the event!)
Alicia would be taking my roll in YM for the evening as I decided it was now time to do a dedication set, I would say what I've been wanting to say for the last year but held in. I would use music, I would use emotion and let her know how much she is missed, loved and how much I love her.
My brother said at his wedding, he once promised himself he'd thank everyone who helped him and was there for him when he battled cancer and used his wedding day to do so. Well, to everyone who made Dance 2 Da Beat 3 exist... I was going to use that dedication set to let them know how much I love them and how much it meant to be and so I booked myself and the dedication set for D2DB 3.
Oh ya, let's ADD IN a PLAYBOY HOTTIE by the name of Christina Cruise to spin as well. Christina was wicked from the get go, showing a lot of excitement to play the event. I seen her drop beats at hotel for Fab Strong's bday and man did she impress me and Makett (Michael Terrazzano of YM)
So the line up was made.... flyers came out, tons and tons of promotion and people talking and the hype was GREATLY exceeding all hype in the past. The machine that was D2DB was rollin' hard, video blogs were posted and I began thinking deeply about my set.
The mad hype created by the masses who support and help out with D2DB was creating absolute hysteria and now, all I had to do was do my best to create a party that people would love, enjoy and allow for this event to become even BIGGER.
