I'd prefer a puppy, just because they are so much cuter than kittens will ever be imo.

Plus I can't be bothered putting in the effort to get my pet's affection, which is what a cat will do to you.

it's not that at all...cats show their love, just in a very different way. they actually DO things for you like kill bugs and lizards. they are more action based i guess you could say.

i'd rather go through the action of getting my cat to cuddle me than go through all the actions it takes to keep a dog. i mean i love my dog to pieces but sometimes i'm like "fuck" when i want to plan a trip or be spontaneous. it's like having a kid. u can't just go do shit for 2 days and forget about your dog. cats on the other hand...they'll live. just leave them a huge bowl of food and water and the tv on and some toys and they will be alright.

I'm not really looking for an action-based pet that'll maul stuff for me, I'd just like a cute dog that I can come home to after a long day at the office and get a big, fluffy-haired hug from, take for long walks along the beachfront and spoil occasionally.

Cat's just don't do it for me, although if someone asked me to look after their cat for a few days I wouldn't say no because I don't hate them.
