hmm..for a living..i think they work at Pacha haha

not anymore... they're all in the unemployment line eating bags of dicks.

OK first off, i dont see how nightlife in new york city will ever die out.. I mean, come on here folks. A few of the people posting in this thread act like 'the scene' is gonna die cause of a few raids... ok. if there's money to be made, then money will be made. the state makes money from taxes, the clubs make money from revenues, the DJ's promoters and workers just get paid. Lets not go nuts here

second off... Pacha is NOT that bad of a club. In fact, its not a bad club period. its great. I dont understand what you 'club snobs' are talking about here? Pacha brings in tons of great talent all the time, yet you complain because what, it gets too crowded?? well thats what happens when talent comes to town, lots of people want to see it live. I mean jesus, some of the people here on TA act like the club should belong to them and they should be able to say who comes and goes. If you want that to be the case, then rent the club out. otherwise, shut up, pay your money, and enjoy yourself, instead of spending time bitching about FOB's and guido's. get over yourself.

third... I got no problem going to Pacha, Mansion, Love, or anywhere for that matter. As long as I'm making best of any situation im in, then i'm happy.

Some of ya'll need to stop being so negative. be glad Pacha is there to bring in talent, like I said before. or how bout this... if you're so awesome... then go to boston or DC for nightlife. When I'm at school in Syracuse, and I want to see a good DJ, i drive to NYC for the night, then drive home after the club... i dont stay in Syracuse and bitch about it. I get off my ass and do something.

come on people. sometimes the comments I read on here are just ridiculous, although VERY entertaining... thats my opinion. love or hate it, you just read it.

Pacha aint a bad club, it's just a minority of people that frequent the place that ruin it. Plus, I used to prefer 'Sound Factory'..

What worries Me now is that all the dick heads from Pacha are gonna try seek a new venue. Hopefully they'll choose 'Mansion' and 'WH' and not Love, Rebel and Sully etc..

I hear they are all heading up to Rhode Kill, Gay Pride will be there also, Mike is building his float for the river..

i dont think the club will be closed forever imo
nypd shut down not just them over the weekend
i think they have been doing an investigation on nyc clubs and maybe saw it gettin a lil out of hand and decided to lay the law down on the weekend to show them they are not messing around
if they are shut down forever, well this is nyc
when one club closes another mcclub opens right back up again
only time will tell

Posted by Scoops on Jun-30-2008 12:46:

this is the third time Pacha NYC has been shut down

1. Opening Nite
2. April 2007
3. this past weeknd

I'm surprised Bloomberg doesn't impose a 3 strikes and you'r out rule

Wow...I bought tix to Hernan for Friday...he has to get re-scheduled somewhere, he's only in the US for 3 fucking days

PS: I think Pacha is pretty dope, except for the gay calderone crowd

they don't need a credit card to hold a table. just a name and phone #.

either way if you hear something please post it.

Please post as soon as you hear something.. I'm trying to determine my July 4th plans and most of it revolves seeing Hernan wherever he ends up

Wow, "the police are clamping down hard on gay sex venues"..They should have busted the Coldplay Concert at MSG.

Posted by Neo95gt on Jul-01-2008 01:52:

It aint closed down forever, c'mon. But they really should redesign it in there. They should let whoever did Mansion, just add a dancefloor. Mansion is freggin awesome. They really need to bring in some sick DJs there.

Posted by zachias31 on Jul-01-2008 03:24:

Ugh, I hate to be nay-sayer, and I do have a sense of humor, but some of the comments on this thread, and the fact that Pacha got shut down on Pride weekend make me pretty mad... Historically, the club/dance scene in NY owes a lot to the gays. The parties you attend are the legacy of other parties that some of you wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. And even if that weren't the case, why even remark on it? Any guy ragging on gays immediately makes me think he's a closet case. It's the 21st century babies. Relax and enjoy.

Alright, fag hag out.

Love, M

ok...im back in effect with a new login...which sucks im a noob again and that makes me so sad!!!!!!!!!!!

anyWAYS....

PACHA: NOT closed forever. Just try to remeber that there are always "politics" and what-not invovled. And although this looks really bad, its all opinion based on coincidence. I do agree that its shitty that they knew there would be a huge group of people- so it seemed opportune to them (aka cops, ect)..... Pacha, as far as I was told last night, is going to be closed. Thats why they have the road show......EVERY YEAR....

EDIT: not sure about Hernan, to be honest- I wasnt aware they had anything going on Friday. If I hear anything Ill post, though

try not to read too much into things...oh and as far as renovating- they JUST did that...so i wouldnt hold your breath. I think their biggest problem, IMHO, is letting too many people in there- over crowded is over crowded and just plain crappy.

ill let you know, too, if i hear anything- not that I necissarily will- but I plan on trying to keep up with any news from my friends over at Pacha...

thats not true at all. they have been road shows since 2006 with JP spinning all over the Hamptons.

PACHA reps were actually posting promo threads on other message boards late last nite for thursday and friday nite. If they were going to be closed for those 2 nites then why bother putting up Promo threads

...yeah, I edited my post- I wasnt aware of friday- when I spoke with my friend it was in regards to Saturday- which is one of the road show dates...

if they're posting promos then Id say its gotta be open- I only have good experiences with them, and I dont see them wasting their time to promo if they are going to be closed.....

Oh well, while this is the only place that was really bringing in any talent (Webster Hall aside, but I don't want to hangout with 19-year olds) I'm not to upset by it. NYC clubbing is not what it used to be and probably won't get any better anytime soon. Looks like we are all out of luck. Maybe one of us needs to invent a time machine and go back to 1997-2000. I'll even take 2002-05 Crobar/Spirit/Avalon at this point.
