FFS they even have that stupid Warcraft 3 hero glow on the axe.

i like it...

Because you can still sell it for a good amount of change to gamble/buy something that you do need. Granted whatever it is that you picked up is rare.

I believe the reason for this is because they've changed the lead designer on this project from the previous other 2(blizzard north was dismantled if I remember correctly)

Posted by Omega_Blue on Jul-02-2008 21:35:

when is this getting released then?

It's not the lead designer's job, it's the art director's. But yeah, the team develloping it now are mostly world of warcraft devs. They actually did a decent job on most of the graphics, it's just the damn colors that ruin everything. Those WoW devs are used to making everything blocky and hyper-saturated. Fan criticism actually got the SC2 team to improve their graphics, just compare these two shots;

Blizzcon 2007;

WWI 2008 (last weekend);

Now if they could only get this implemented on D3;

Completely agree, it does need a grittier feel. It's fucking Diablo, not a cartoon.

Ok so this is a pretty badly written petition, full of spelling mistakes and bad grammar, but the guy does have a good point, and it's got 18 000 signiatures already, including mine. I normally don't endorse stupid online petitions, but this is a good way of showing blizzard how many people are dissatisfied with the cartoony graphics.

Jesus titfucking christ, don't play the game if you don't like the graphics. Simple as that. Don't tell other people how to do their work, as honestly... nobody really gives a shit except whatever shoddy and uninformed community has been formed around the distaste for a product they have full control over the individual purchase of.

Blizzard consistently asks for feedback and criticism on their ongoing projects, therefore, people do give a shit about the community, which is what makes Blizzard different from other game devellopers. They have the intelligence and the experience to understand that it is in their best interest to gauge what the fanbase wants and to deliver on that. Especially when it comes to a previousely well established franchise like Diablo. If the fanbase isn't pleased, then no one will be sustaining sales after the initial hype dies down. We know for a fact that they've released quality games in the past, so I don't think it's unreasonable to hold them to a high standard, and as a loyal customer, I intend to do just that. If this were an EA game, I wouldn't give two shits about it.

Jesus titfucking christ, you sound as retarded as those WoW kiddies on the battlenet forum.

All the more reason to make it consistant with the rest of the series - this way you won't be tempted to buy it and therefore won't be disapointed.

it's actually a good thing. Have you heard of pick it? an external app that people run which has a list of desirable items you want (runes, and good shiat) and whenever that stuff is dropped it immediately takes over, teleports you there to pick it up before anyone else can see it.

Its what happens at the end of pretty much any baal run, to th enormal eye it look sliek nothing was dropped

The draw in diablo and wow is PVP. You might not think it requires skill since you dont have to aim, but he skill here is building your character and using the right abilities at the right time. In the case of wow, theres matches such as ctf or domination. Diablo is pure using the right skill at the right time and having good enough gear to fend for yourself.

I think the graphics are perfect for both games. Dark and gritty = grey and brown color palette. Games only excel in graphics not go back in time. Diablo 2 and starcraft used 256 colors. Making the game darker is just going to make it like doom 3. I can see why starcraft turns people off.. but thats pretty much how it looks on the original.. just with more polygons.

People need to stop whining.
