Thanks. I was about to ask what the hell that meant. Any idea on the etymology?

Bog, I'd venture to guess. E.g. people who live in bogs, swamps. Akin to floridians.

your "screen name" = false advert.

Not to sound superficial, but that's why I have a college degree - to not be like what you just mentioned above. I only did pizza delivery as quickie startup job before I started my main day job, and then turned into a second nighttime job. After a while, I didn't need it anymore.

Nah man, doesn't sound superficial at all. Tons of kids do the pizza thing as a quickie startup job in the early years. It just gets creepy when you see some guy that could be you're dad out there slinging pies.

Ahem, if you're talking about me, my screen name says nothing about etymological intuition.

And thanks for the link.

It is most definitely the first step, my friend.

Unless you lose your lighter. Then life sucks.

He was like 45 years old and he looked so depressed when he took the triangle sign out of his back seat and attached it to the roof of his car. I could only wonder what could have possibly gone so wrong in his life to be doing that at his age.

I worked at Hungry Jacks (Burger King) for a year. I was always put on the "broiler", which is the big grille the meat goes through.

working that fucking machine in Australian weather is a death sentence.

I would run into the freezer every now and then, and just stand there. I also worked at a computer shop. That sucked, especially since my boss was not paying me anywhere near my worth. He now has 3 new employees doing what I used to do by myself and they all get paid more than I did.

That sucks, unless you're now getting paid more than they are.

-Worked as a busboy at an Armenian reception hall... 10$ an hour, did one day only
-Worked at a mattress manufacturing plant for one day, didn't want to go back there, fuck that shit waking up at 4:45am.
-Picked strawberries for one week, got thrown out for throwing strawberries at my buddy

thats about it for shitty job i think

I also delivered newspapers for a few summers, but that was fun and easy money.

I worked for a security company for a few months.

First I guarded houses that had caught fire, waiting for the insurance adjuster to come out. I basically sat in a car for 10 hours overnight. Once there was a tone coming from inside the house, like a smoke alarm. I went in the house to check it out (which you're not supposed to do, for soon-to-be apparent reasons) and halfway up the hallway I fell through the floor into the basement, landing in 8" of cold, dirty water from the hoses. I had to sit in the car wet and smelling of a house fire all night.

After that I guarded Lakeport brewery...which is kind of like the fox watching the chickens.

Then I guarded a credit union, where I spent my time using thier office as a shooting range for my pellet gun.

After that, I guarded a bakery. This bakery made all the stuff for Tim Hortons and a lot of retail food. Cool gig for a while, all alone in this HUGE bakery, with the cool swirling racks and giant mixers. Managed to get a old of forklift keys, so my best friend (who happened to work for them too) came down an we had forklift races. I also procured a few 'free' cakes and such.

Finally, I guarded a sawdust factory. No joke.
Some guy got caught stealing truck tyres and threatened to burn it down. I used to bring a TV and PS2 with me and just sit there all night playing games and watching movies. Later, I started bringing my pellet gun with me to shoot rats.

It was a pretty easy job, no oversight, but boring as hell. I worked there a total of two months in the summer.

Anyway I've worked as a cleaner, cashier, waiter, was doing phone surveys, now i work as a consultant or smth like that, basicly i just work in front of zee computer with some data, doesn't suck as much as other jobs ive had but it still is utterly boring

Posted by Ania_xox on Jul-08-2008 20:45:

Tim Hortons for close to 6 years baby
the worst was waking up on the weekends in the winter --- effin -30 degrees outside with the windchill, yawning down to work to serve coffee and bagels to people with bad breath and no sense of humour at that hour of the morning

When I was 9 I worked at my parents' convenience store
I remember one time a guy came in and asked for a condom and I had no idea what that was so I yelled "TATA!! DO WE SELL CONDOMS?" to my dad who was stocking something in the back
lol good times

My actual real worst job was retail @ Best Buy. They stuck me in the god damn printer aisle so I had to deal with people who couldn't figure out which ink cartridge they needed for their printer at home. Then to top it off, after Black Friday (or is it thursday? i dont care), my hours were magically cut every week by at least 50%. And during these new shit hours, they sent me to work in the back warehouse area to take new merchandise off the truck. A few weeks later I told my manager that I needed a week off for spring break. He said that it was cool and to come back after vacation to set up my hours for the following week. Never came back, fuck that place!

i have a buddy who works for moodys in toronto...he says hes always in communication with nyc...u might know him eventually
