Can't wait to hear this recording from LPR...post that thing NOW.

thanks. i'll let mono know what people are saying... i know he was excited to play this opening set. he's real close friends with all of SOS and has opened for them a bunch of times. he spent a LOONG time grabbing all kinds of music preparing for the night.

and thank god it didn't pour! we were really afraid it would, but when i woke up on saturday, the rain had already passed.

i will get a copy of LPR soon. i need to discuss with my partners on how to release it to the public. hang tight.

yeah, it did take a long time to board. sorry about that. i just know that they were searching really hard this time at the door. this was for a couple of reasons... they had another party on the sister boat, the star of palm going on. so they had most of the security guards on the other boat and not ours. basically, they know that on our parties, there are never any fights, just problems with illicit substances. so if you were able to get past security, you were able to have a great time on the boat without huge guys in black breathing down your neck! for THAT i was supremely thankful for. i think you guys can agree!

Definitely was a good time. Crowd was fun, nothing crazy. Everyone was there to party for the same reason. I didn't mean to flame about the bathroom situation. It wasn't a big deal honestly, and I'm glad those guys were smart enough to keep it safe for everyone. Kudos to them.

Yeah that was really annoying.

I was afraid to leave to go to the bathroom cuz I didn't want to wait to get back up.

Also was Desyn's set from the boat also recorded?

Posted by Legend on Aug-04-2008 20:23:

I didn't leave the top floor the whole time in fear of not getting back up.

Again, apologies to everyone for the wait to get back up top. We were literally at legal capacity on the boat (548 people) and there are 3 floors... if the top deck exceeds 200-250 people, problems develop with stability (as you noticed at one point, it was pretty severe). However, the wait to go back up was never longer than 5-10 mins, and thank you for those that were patient

And yes, Desyn's set was recorded and will likely be broadcast on our show on Sirius soon, and will be released publicly after that.

Thanks to everyone for a fantastic party...

makes total sense...im glad they enforced the wait

Anybody know what track was playing while we were leaving the dock? Male vocals, groovy bassline... not giving you much here, I know...

Anyway, it was an awesome party. Haven't had such a good time in a while. Smiling people, great music, uncrowded dancefloor (thanks to the occupancy limits), boating fun, great sunset... what more could you ask for? Can't wait to hear the set again!

+2. we held our pisses in for 4 hours.. had to keep the alcohol intake to a mininum..was rough stuff.

i think for future parties to alleviate that situation is just put a banging system down stairs as well then people wouldn't be begging to come back up. that one little speaker downstairs wasn't doing justice and made people get anxious to come back up. just a thought.

also i didn't mean to bash mono as much as i did..totally understandable about how he had to play longer then usual, specially when you have no idea when your set's going to end. been through it myself.

definitely looking forward to hearing that solo desyn set in full form again

Actually there was a banging system on the lowest deck (not the middle) as well (carpet on the floor made the bass sound really sweet), including a large projection screen of the top deck.

lol looks like you guys got the exact oppostie problems with DJ's showing up. Desyn almost missed the cruise in Toronto and showed up with a huge stuffed animal over his head smiling as if he wasnt holding up the boat for 2 hours.

glad it was a great time. I officially LOVE S.O.S!!! (yes I know I love a different genre of music...HOLY SHIT!) Sooooo sick, especially the first hour...had such dark DEEEP beats, it was almost sexy...lol loved every second of them. <3 wowowow.

Our (toronto) cruise was a little short because of delays but I didnt really care because there was still good music, good peoples, and a fabulous view (we lucked out because were we docked was a perfect view of the toronto skyline, so being off the dock didnt make much of a difference to me....) perfect weather, too! <3

Based on the music alone I WILL be doing the NYC one next year and even seeking them out in a club setting. wow.

Edit: my pics from the Toronto Version if anyone is interested:

That was a very nice touch. I really liked how that system and the projector was down there.

I'm so glad they didn't have another DJ playing down there.

Had a blast on Saturday. Turned out to be a perfect night.

Music was great the first hour when DM first got on but lost me the rest of the time.

Hats off to the David, Rocky and crew... Another fine party boys!
