Just bought PSP Mixpack2 yesterday. Supreme quality plugins for little price.

Got a big wishlist still:
Zero-G Phaedra
Omnisphere
Steinberg Cubase

I'm thinking about switching sequencer, not 100% sure though. My current sequencer does not support PDC (Plugin Delay Compensation) which is terribly annoying. It doesn't allow you to see the overall song progression as well since it is pattern based . Plus Cubase 4 costs about 750 Euro... I know my way around in the program but I'm not yet as familiar with it as I would want to be, so I'm not quite sure if it will be worth the investment. However I would have PDC and I can see the overall view on the entire song which is what I am missing right now in Renoise.

Maybe by the time I can afford Cubase Renoise already has the features I'm am looking for. Who knows

Hey Storyteller, just a tip: if you've never used Cubase 4, you're in for a pretty long and steep learning curve coming from FLS. I highly recommend the Cubase 4 Power! book. The amount of time it will save you compared to trial & error or reading the owner's manual easily makes it worth the extra $25 (USD), IMO.

Cubase 4 is a HUGE leap from SX3, i love it

Posted by Storyteller on Aug-14-2008 20:15:

i've only used 1&2 rarely hehehe. I use renoise right now but wanted to take it a step up and have better integration with outboard gear. Cubase is ideal for that and more specific features i'm looking for

Mac OS doesn't need support and it runs pretty stable

I start a new job soon and one of my first purchases is going to be a mac book and then a new mac pro. I def like the OS, very smooth and from what I can tell very stable.

Most awesome OS ever, basically.

I used to be of the oppinion that OSX and Nix were the be all and end all of OSes... Lately I've realised Microsoft is #1 for a reason. I guess it is logical really; they do have far greater economy of scale than Apple or any Nix distro. In this day and age it is pretty hilarious for a pure-network based attack to be successful. The fact that so many easily exploitable bugs exist really says something about the quality of the programming, IMO.
