this resulted in loss of life, considerable damage, and could have been a *far* greater disaster than it already has proven to be.

But there was no loss of life; the potential for greater disaster is only speculation; and if there was any negligence involved, they will of course be held responsible for the damages.

If we're to make this a local "ban", claim that the land was zoned incorrectly and force them to move, who should pay for that process?

a firefighter died and an unidentified body was found on the site (which could be that of a still-missing employee)

there are houses *across the street*...metres away. smashed windows, ceilings caving in and many wondering about structural damange.

the site of the facility itself is trashed...so relocating it now can't be significantly more expensive than rebuilding it there (after the investigation, after the cleanup, etc).

who should pay? that depends upon the results of the investigation. either the company or their insurer will pay for the rebuild, so why not push for relocation now. it won't happen...but it's an option.

I was stuck on the 401 East (1-2 exits before the 400) for over an hour and a 1/2 bc of this propane incident!

God was that frustrating!

I was wondering what the HELL was going on w/ the traffic shitshow clutterfuck of a mess, so I turned to 680 and thats when I found it what caused it.

Passed the 400, the 401 E wast closed, so everyone had to be diverted onto the 400 exit, and that's only 1 lane wide exiting off the 401, which is what caused the whole back up which saw ppl crawing forward inches at time every 5 mins! Ugh.

What an annoying drive home. Being late getting into the office too sucked.

At the time, around 1pm, 680 News was already saying that a firefighter had been found on the scene w/o vitalals they thought. Sorry to hear it confirmed that a man did indeed die. Really unfortunate.
