I wonder how many of the people who bitch about hipsters used to wear phat pants, button down shirts and ties to raves back in the day.

Time Festival

Absolutely great party, and a fantastic venue. Hats off to Embrace.

The weather certainly appeared to inhibit attendance early on too, but things filled up nicely.

Drinks were not cheap (love looking in the wallet the next morning to find it empty, haha!).

Really enjoyed Matthew Dear, and Heidi, Button rocked it (well done man), and the party downstairs was a blast.

First time I've been out in a while: was great crossing paths with old friends again

In my experience, ravers are slightly more personable than this new crowd.

To anyone who said there should be more parties there -

+1. I've noticed this too.

And yes, you should have come. You missed out!

Hipsters rule the nation!

haha....
yes, for A-Trak and Erol Alkan especially.... A-Trak's set was a complete shocker. i was expecting routines, hip-hop, scratching... he was playing straight up booty shaking party music better than i've ever heard/witnessed. unreal.

by the time Soulwax was done with their 20 minute 'mic check' i was starting to lose interest, but they were dope as well.

i've got like 10,000,000 videos.... lol some fucked up, some just straight epicness. i'll try posting tonight.

I think that was Hatiras's ...i went upstairs just after soulwax finished and Hatiras just got on. Unless audion was playing a hatiras track to finish his set.

edit: LOL!!! definatly was Hatiras...you can see me jumping around in the front with a folded up umbrella waiving in the air.

Really, really wish I could have made this. Was very much looking forward to this festival and the venue itself as wel (even more, arguably).

Shame I had priorities I couldnt simply shake off to attend this.

This will probably be my biggest bummer of the summer, having to miss this.

(Being stuck in the CLUSTER-FUCK of a traffic jam on the 401 East before the 400 due to that damnd propane explosion didnt help my mood either!!! )

Druggy techno.

Love hearing that term/description applied to a techno sound because it makes me think of Mark EG everytime! lol. On on his Blackout Audio radio show I hear him make reference to "druggy techno" tracks at least twice every episode. Haha

I wonder though... I dont think all the comments are "bitching, but maybe just more like "remarking."

I mean, its not a fashion style the person who is commenting is accustomed to seeing regularly (or at all), I assume. He or she knows, Im sure, that the style/ppl exists, but he or she isnt usually confronted by it. Thus when he or she is, it usually warrants a comment of some sort. If any comments are non-negative, I see no reason to be surprised, shocked or outraged by them.

I think the complete opposite. Unless of course you meant that he was the druggy playing techno. lol

No. I am referring to the music that is played on his tracks. A lot of it has a very druggy techno feel! And you always hear him say as such too.

And, surprisingly, he's not hopped up on drugs when he spins, despite appearances. Its all part of his DJ image he's cultivated. He'd be a complete disaster for real if he was botched doing the shit he's doing. The stuff he does it all fairly controlled (generally, speaking. But accidents happen, of course. )
