The backwards apostrophes looked upon this forum with envious eyes, then slowly they drew their plans against us.

Detuning is not a build up noise, do you mean to thicken a sound give it more harmonics? Distortion is also not a build up sound. What I mean is it can be used creatively through automation to maybe emphasise a build section but generally I use it as a mastering tool or a gentle effect.

Whats this mean shapes and joining things up saw and square waveforms yes to do what? To make what work?

I got a headache!
the point i was making is this, you canot hope to build good full tracks with leeds and layering. you have to make a good "base first" and this means keeping noise together.witch brings me onto the point of shapes.every osc that you select has some shape or another -gates- default-saw -square- triangl- so you have to make all of these things work first before you can go on to the good stuff. think of it as building a house, you dont just use bricks and cerment and hope it holds up,you need a frame first and what are they made off -shapes-.

I have no problems using software and I no longer use any hardware, I find that I can get my sound just fine by processing my audio. IMO its all about mixing. If you can't mix, you are not gonna make hardware sound good either. It might be easier in hardware but you can still accomplish your sound in software, its just knowing what to use.

Just my 2c
