Anyway, why does he have to slow down at the end to prevent injury?
Can't he run all the way to the end and start slowing down after the finish line?
I mean, it's not like he's going to hit a wall. The track goes on and on...
He could've ran 100 m in very close to 9.50 seconds.

On TV it showed 19.31, but the official ruling was 19.30

On 100m it's physically impossible. Your body can't sustain that 100% exertion and your muscles get depleted of oxygen.

What are you talking about, tripper?

You can run as hard as your body will allow, which he clearly didn't do, both in his 100 and 200.

They just need some respirocytes, then it would be a piece of cake.

Or some crazy doping drugs

the other theory is that they (apparently) get paid a substantial amount of money if they break WR's on the European tour, so it pays to ease off and then be able to break the WR again at the next IAAF event.

I remember watching both events live. Bailey rocks.

Jamacia has won a lot of races both mens and womens, I'm surprised they were the first country to come up with a new undetectable steroid.

That was my first thought. Giving his best would result with too good timing that would be too hard to beat later on.
