The first half broods along but it is rather underwhelming, but the mix picks up like crazy with the Ladytron track and that M83 track which is just straight epic. Everything else after is good too. DIdnt' mind the last track as well.

I think the first half will grow on me, as I didnt' exactly hate it, but overall right now I think the first Involver was better overall from beginning to end. Like it's really good from track 1, all the way to "On my Own"...and lets not forget that amazing mix of Lostep's Burma, or that Petter track. I liked Involver right away from the get go, and the disc as a whole held steadily throughout its duration.

Invol2ver's first half really bogs it down, but I THINK it may grow on me. The second half is really amazing and reminds me of the Sasha that we all used to know. So overall as a single disc, for me right now, the second half is the reason to purchase this, and this is why I believe as a whole the disc doesn't stand up as well to Involver.

I suspect that if it wasn't for the Involver label (and it's massive hype), people would enjoy this cd more

Posted by Nobbie Q on Sep-16-2008 16:58:

Well there's ALWAYS been hype and expectations with any project Sasha has done. I guess Mixmag didn't do him any favours by naming him "son of God" in the past, but I believe this stigma still affects the guy today.

But seriously, the first half is a bit on that dull side. I know everyone is going on this techno/minimal bandwagan and I know the first half isn't either of those genres. But it still seems like he's on purpose holding himself back too much on tracks.

lol....your review was very similar to mine after i listened to it the first time. I 100% agree that the CD REALLY takes off with the Ladytron track...which i LOOOOOOVE.

I just finished my 2nd round....and i have to say, i now TOTALLY appreciate the first half of the CD as well. I can tell i'm going to love it more and more with every listen. This CD has an amazing progression and flow between tracks, just like the first one, and i see so many similarities between the 2 albums, which is exactly what i was hoping for.

sasha should try his talents playing accordion

Posted by MSZ on Sep-16-2008 22:27:

thought the mix started dying as soon as the ladytron hit but whatever its all subjective who cares. IF you think this is "shit" then you need you should probably listen to more edm

jenny tho, u cant even appreciate the music played in the tracks? even tho u might not like the sounds

Posted by Silky Johnson on Sep-17-2008 01:03:

Of course I can appreciate it. But that doesn't mean I automatically enjoy it.

I mean, I also appreciate the manner in which a complex virus like AIDS acts in the body, but would I ENJOY it? Probably not.

What I'm getting at is: you have AIDS.

Posted by MSZ on Sep-17-2008 01:59:

so why does it suck? because u dont enjoy it? NOOOOOOOOooooooooo

Posted by MSZ on Sep-17-2008 02:00:

Sorry, I shouldn't have said it sucks....was just a moment of hating there.

I found it dull and uninteresting, and as I said before, tedious. So in my mind, I suppose that means it was poorly executed.

God I don't even care, lol. Didn't like it, end of story. Moving onnnnnnnnn.

Intricately Woven Work of Art.

One of my favourite mixes on the set is between song 3 and 4... love the continuous rolling beat, melodies riding high above them

I do understand how some reviews are saying that this CD does not have a lot of club potential for the first half, however, I don't feel the same way. I would love to jam to some of the tunes he starts out his CD with. I like how he starts the CD out smooth, then transitions with the rolling beat and straight into the bangepic highs, to be rounded out nicely at the end. Perfect circle.

Great use of vocal, loops and quirky noises- creeping into a track, then creeping back out as quick as they came in

M83 Couleurs- Amazing track. Hits me like something old Sasha use to play back in the day. Have been wondering what the sample was at the beginning of the Sasha's Creamfields EM...now I know. I love how Sasha weaves the epic high synths back into Eraser (which I am not a huge fan of Sasha's remix of this track).

3 Little Pigs! Wow. Top notch Sasha tunage. Would love for this to come out on vinyl so I can put it with my Emfire collection from the past year. This song will definitely be a sure Sasha hit!

All in all I find Invol2ver to be a perfect addition to my Sasha music library.
