If you think tech house, deep house, house, techno, disco and breaks suck, then yes, I do not like good music.

Ah hell no, I love house and deep house!

Tech - Depends
Disco - Reminds me of 80s (which is great!)
Techno - Yea I'm gonna say that one sucks

i like prog house. and only the prog house that sounds like trance. like deadmau5's prog house. that's yummy.

the rest of house sucks the wang. which is why there's only 10 members of houseaddict.com, and 80K members here.

I feel sorry for you if you're really so dense as to think it does.

sorry i figured at least you could pick up a bit of sarcasm.

you clearly missed the point. anyway ill make it clear for you: just because music was made 10, 50 or hundreds of years ago does not make any similar music, made in the present, invalid or bad.

EDIT: I only chose techno as i knew it related to Clovis. there are many genres that could be used in place of techno.

wow you feel sorry for me haha please

You missed my point. Recycling ideas makes music bad.

er no. i got your point i just disagree. Recycling of ideas happens in every genre and does not necessarily mean bad music is produced.

No you don't get my point.

Recycling ideas =/= recycling entire tracks. Which is basically what Tyas does with a harder kick.

ok, you have made 3 different points now but this one i agree with

also, for the record, i dont like Tyas at all.

I didn't miss that at all, and no one here needed to be told that in the first place.

What you failed to grasp is that no one was ever making the argument that finding inspiration in old music was somehow wrong.

Then it proceeded to spiral out of control into the shitstorm this thread has turned out to be. Bravo, TA - all of us.

Posted by Fpcookie on Sep-12-2008 01:19:

lol

well we agree that Tyas is boring and remakes of classics are crap, at least.

Posted by RJT on Sep-12-2008 01:20:

Well fuckin' a - looks like we're back on track.

Posted by MeLLyMeL on Sep-12-2008 01:34:

Well Sean's brothers don't even play trance and one is a pretty good house dj. The other is a bit young I believe not sure if he spins.

I lol @ the offbeat bassline but I think that goes for and Discover Artist - not just Sean.

All these posts and no picture of Sean Tyas as a muppet? FAIL!

Posted by enydo on Sep-12-2008 20:26:

lol Tyas, all my friends think LIFT IS THE EFFIN SHIT!

:insert RJT's grimmace smilie:

Tyas is (IMO) horrendous, but despite that, almost every idea behind the majority of trance, techno and house tunes has been done 10 years ago (actually make it 20 for some tracks/genres), its not only the usual "reach-for-the-lasers-trance-track", its also the "cooler" house and techno that some of you play. So, attacking modern trance in terms of innovation is implausible. In a matter of fact, the only genre that hasn't been done 10 years before its that Minimal and minimalistically edged-tech-house and techno stuff (i call it shit but don't pay attention) coming from Germany, and now that i think of it they are also around for quite some time now (it could actually be 10 years as well). So in terms of inspiration all EDM is currently dead. Good and bad tunes are always present though and these depend not only on the quality of the tune per se, but on the listener's taste and experience.

We are getting close to 10 years now.
