Can somebody please post this set up ASAP? My account at Tribalmixes seems to have been closed because of inactivity.

edit: nevermind I see Yohan just posted it for us at the Househeads download thread. Thanks!

However I just never got into it. Diggers was spot on and everyone was having a blast and loving his set, but I remember thinking to my self I should be more into it and should have been having a great time. Still good to be at Guv with a group of friends.

This is my review. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves, but I just couldn't get into it last night. I guess Digweed's stuff really doesn't do it for me anymore.

I guess just not really my preferred choice of music! Had a great time out with everyone tho, even though we got there super late!! Randomest last minute decision ever hahaha

+1

I had fun and everything, but it just wasn't pumping me up that much. Ah well lol.

Thank you last minute decisions! 2am something "lets go to guv! even though we live an hour away!" Yeeeeah! lol

Good set by Digweed but it wasn't anything out of this world. I've definitely seen him play better. His set felt like he was building to something but never really dropped the bomb to completely set the room off, like he was holding back.

Had fun but I'm not really shell-shocked by the music. Guess it's up to Howells now...

I had a fucking blast, the shit that Digweed plays gets to me like no other. Was awesome when these 2 foreign friends of Digweed got him to come down the stage for some quick pics when he was done with his set.

Did anyone hear him play Depeche Mode - Freelove (josh wink remix)? I was so hoping to hear that song live but I didn't catch it, it would of tore the roof off.

Did anyone stay till the end of Mark Oliver's closing set? I thought the encore song Oliver did was awesome but can't remember it for the life of me, it's a remix of some classic song.

Great night! Definitely gonna catch Sasha when he comes to Guv.

BUT...

Fuck off Fortier....

I understand al this opening bullshit but gimme a break man...

Kenny G would've been a better warm up...

I spoke to Chris and he was having SEVERE technical issues in the booth. He was pretty flustered when I spoke to him. I guess there's a sub in the booth and it was making the CDJs and the 1200s (Chris is primarily a vinyl DJ) skip like mad.

Anyway, I heard about an hour of his set before Diggers came on and he sounded absolutely fine to me. 3rd last tune he played was immense.

for him to be blaming it on the sub that is in the dj booth is bullshit.
mark oliver plays vinyl and has no problem at all. all chris had to do was ask the sound tech. i think it just came down to chris not knowing what to do and probably too scared/ashamed to ask for help.

Bull shit!

He reminded me of the guy that opened up for lawler last year @ Guv..oh god he was even better! lol!

Everything was awesome with John Digweed... Retarded crowd just ruined my some moments....no place to move around... I still don't get those who don't know why they are clubbing... Kool Haus would be much better, as only Digweed lovers would pay for ticket...

There was one lady in white top, jean and sunglasses.. I just enjoyed watching her dance while I was dancing my head off...

Hahahahahahahaha. Oh man.

Clue. Less.

Chris has been DJing for something like 20 years. Technical difficulties happen. He wasn't blaming that on his set per say. I made that assumption because I DJ as well and know what it can be like. He just said he was having a hard time playing because of tech issues. Sometimes it's better to fight through all of that than have a sound guy fucking things up even more while you're playing. I'm only guessing that's the option Chris went with.

The sound guy at the end was playing around a lot in the booth. It was quite obvious there were issues.

When things aren't right in the booth technically, it can really eff up your flow.

is it just me or does anyone else really notice a difference in the reviews from mote veteran TAs and newer TAs? It seems the newer TAs think almost every set by every DJ is awesome and the more veteran TAs tend to be more reserved in their praise for the set.

Ok so my review is a very different tone than the rest.

Last night was my least favourite club night to date.

I arrived just after 12 and met up with a lovely group of people 'ALRIGHT, THIS IS GOING TO BE A SICK NIGHT, DIGWEED AND SOME WICKED FACES AROUND ME!!' I thought.

My excitement quickly disappeared... The sound in the beginning of the night was HORRIBLE!!!! The worst I have EVER heard in a club. There was no where on the dance floor with a decent sound... and Fortier... he was BORING!

So after awhile of failing to find a decent spot and failing at 'getting into it' I decided to venture to Acid Lounge, in hopes of seeing Barb (who I never saw )

This was my first time ever stepping foot into Acid Lounge and my first time every seeing YM. They wait was worth it... The two guys playing from YM were AWESOME! The vibe was incredible, the people were happy and smiling and having fun, everyone was cheering, music was amazing, and the sound was so clean compared to the nasty sound from the main floor speakers. I danced away there until I recieved a text 'digs' and knew it was time for the real fun to begin.

The second Digweed took over the booth (I will now quote Cribby) I got serious goosebumps. After the first few tracks you knew this was going to be one of the best sets you have EVER heard. Musically he was spot on. Constantly all I could think of was 'WOW'

However... I reconfirmed my hatered towards the Guvernment. I use to only go to the Guv, and I nearly always had a great time, however this past summer I broke away from the guv, and Viva had left many unpleasent feelings towards the venue. The crowd was HORRIBLE. Never have I experienced a night out where people were so rude, inconsiderate, and pushy... I had guys randomly grabbing my butt, people pushing so hard I nearly fell over, some some guy pushed so hard into me that my ribs are slightly bruised. People would push their way through and then just stop standing right in front of me... It was IMPOSSSIBLE to find space. Whenever you did, it was quickly taken over... And it stunk... so many times all I could smell was sweaty armpits, or whenever that stupid ice fog thing went off it smelt rancid. The air was hot and heavy (as always in a club) but when that stupid fog thing goes off it makes in next to impossible to breathe. And the lasers.... I love the guv lasers, during the right set. Digweeds set was dark, banging, at times twisted... I did not want BRIGHT lasers in my eyes. I felt the over use of lasers that night was not fitting to the set. I think I also forgot how sketchy and weird the crowd at Guv is. I totally forgot about the 50 year old asians and all the other messed up people crawling around... so seeing them last night was extremely disturbing and distracting for me.

/I hate Guv rant.

So I am very upset that an incredible set was ruined by the Guv elements. I left pretty early, 3:30... as I figured he would be done at 4. So I am rather upset that I missed out on 2 hours of his set.

On a high note it was great seeing everyone and you guys are what made the night possible. Being around a group of friendly faces makes dealing with the guv crowd slightly more possible. Im glad you all had a great time.

Digweeds set 10/10
Fortiers set blahhhh (the little big I heard)
YM 9/10 (the little bit I heard)

Oh and I also hated the booth. I think the lights on the front of the booth is a stupid idea. It does looks sort of cool, but it is next to impossible to see the dj or take photos of the dj.

Oh and the group of shirtless guys dancing on the platform... HAHAHAHAHAHA

DIGWEEEEEEEED!!!!!! <3

Your ass was too nice to resist! Sorry for pinching it

thats always been that way tho...initially when u find urself posting reviews, the excitement is enough to say it was awesome and then once uve seen a dj a few times u have something to compare with and can make a better judgement

When someone has a problem focusing on three people standing four feet in front of them then we'll ask you. ok?

Wow.. That is the most interesting observation I have ever heard...It is far away from a sociological analysis. I am new to this forum so I might answer your question if you don't mind... Does that mean I just started to go clubs after joining this forum? Do you mean new TA members don't know what trance, house, prog, and other musics OR how a good DJ plays? I just go to stupid crowded guvernment club when a good DJ comes... So, I really enjoy what I listen...though I still think that my car has better sound system than guvernment... Poor Chris...

I think it is only you brother.... I have been listening this music since Dance to Trance came up... You are not more realistic when you do negative criticism... there is also positive criticism... May be all veterans are in one circle which is surrounded by concrete walls...

Hahaha forgiven, just next time dont be a coward and hide in the crowd while doing it

I keep going over the night in my head and I think I feel very similar to a lot of you...

The music was great I loved his set, it was brilliant sounding... However I just could never get into it. I felt like I was forcing myself to dance instead of the music taking control of me. I rather of just stood there and listened.

I still cant get over the vibe there. I was really hoping for a better night.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the newer TAs generally younger and therefore haven't been out as much or haven't seen DJs multiple times. I'm not suggesting that newer TAs don't know good music or good DJs....just maybe they don't know how to write a full review.

The more veteran TAs seem to not only post the positives of a set but also the negatives...which gives me a better idea about how good the music may have been.
