True. I'd drink it more often if I could find it. Definately more aromatic than any other gin I've had. Try purchasing it on the net?

I've not had Millers. Should I?

Here's my favourite and a damn fine gin to get, Martin Millers. It's about $80 a bottle but well worth it.

Fresh lime is a must with G&T. Looooooove it!

If I can't find this out and about, I'll purchase online and then get back to you.

G&T is the cleanest, most refreshing drink. I mean, just look it, it's even sexier than the mojito.

I drink them in winter, too, so I feel summer.

I keep reading this as the 'Gina thread. I can't recall the last time I had gin (or 'gina lulzomg). I think it was almost 7 years ago.

i notice this happening in all the alcohol threads. it's like a competition of who can post the rarest brand.

i'm fine w/ good ol' bombay or tanqueray

I dont do it with gin but i do do it with rum. I mean its like buying rc cola or coca cola.. you will go out of your way to find coca cola.

Posted by Slylee on Sep-25-2008 17:04:

i guess. but tanqueray & bombay are decent right? i mean it's not like shit gin or anything. it's just what's popular.

but then again this is TA so i guess i should expect that everyone will try to avoid going with anything that's popular. lol

Word! I absolutely love Tanqueray and Bombay once in a while. Although I really want to try that Hendrick's one cause I've heard so many people hype it and how once you try it you'll never want anything else.

$50 is moderate. $70-120 is expensive. 120+ is just fucking hell, but there are brands I would buy that are that expensive.

It's around $40, and yes there are a few liquor stores but they're usually more expensive than the supermarket.

Are you talking about rum or gin? Or just booze in general?

Posted by UWM on Sep-25-2008 18:49:

There are few things I have a harder time putting down than gin.

Awful, awful shit.

Ya the only problem is that they only sell 23 year old one or wtvr. I saw there is a 15 year old but i have yet to try it. And of course the baller one which iv only tried a couple of times, but never bought a bottle.

23 Years is the most popular around here too, I've hardly ever seen one of the 15 years for sale other than airports. X.O. which I think is the baller one you're referring to is not that much better than the 23 years one. Has more to do with packaging and publicity. I've seen bottles of that one for sale @ $100+ a bottle.

This is exactly how I have always been. It is something I have never liked, but I figure that I could try it in other ways.

But fuck do I expect to hate it.

What is it exactly that you don't like? Once I tried it I fell in love with it.

Posted by lcid on Sep-25-2008 20:53:

gin hangovers are the worst.

i do enjoy a nice refreshing gin & tonic in the summertime, but i refuse to get drunk off gin anymore.

I like to call any gin cocktail the "panty dropper"

Yes yes yes yes yes, do it do it do it! I guarantee you will love it. It's the cleanest and crispest gin I have ever tried.

I've never actually tried the Hendricks and now I'm really interested in seeing what it tastes like. I'll try and track it down.

You know what? I was like that too.

Gin = Absolutely awful
Tonic = Rubbish as well.

Gin & Tonic (no fruit) I used to hate as well. It's just nothing special but I can tolerate it now. But.....

Gin & Tonic plus a couple of fresh limes?
OMG! If ever there was a drink that benefits insanely from a few slices of fresh fruit, it's G&T. The lime is the ingredient that seals the deal and couple with a quality gin like Millers or Bombays it goes off.

Posted by XaNaX on Sep-26-2008 13:39:

Killed the last of my Bombay last night so I'm hittin the liquor store across the river and picking up a bottle of Sapphire at lunch today. Somehow I have to prevent myself from from making a big G&T to drink at my desk in the afternoon.

Had a nice tanquerey yesterday after a 4 pack of delirium trements...
