| Originally posted by RayRayy Its never a good thing when a club closes down for whatever reason...look at the history of other afterhour places that closed and re-opened..they never lasted long after. I truely hope Stereo doesn't follow suit. That all we have is hope I love stereo as much as the next guy/gal. The circumstances is beyond our control. |
When Industry closed in Toronto (RIP) The city was never the same for afterhours partying. Everyone got lost. Sure there was still the Guv and several other places that kept opening and shutting down soon after. But like Stereo Industry was the heart and soul for partiers. Industry was the only successfull after hours which intergrated well with gays and straights. You always had a good time there. It was truley paridise garage as Stereo is/was to montreal. After Industry close it was the end for most poeple. And the scene has never been the same since.
At least you still have Black and Blue.... um i think.

We also have Bal en Blanc.. The end of Sona was the end of partying for a lot of people I know.
Lots of people that party at Stereo still remember Sona as their home.

it would've been made public as for most decisions made by the Vile de Montral.

A friend of mine that owns a club in Montreal and dj'd monthly at Stereo before the fire told me that they weren't re-opening.....Again, could be wrong but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
She will re-open again...mark my words.
any valid reasons from the City of Montreal on not issuing any new after license ?
I heard somewhile ago that they were discussing the possibility of closing clubs later....might be a good compromise..hmm
noise complaints by the residents.
Stereo and Circus are literaly next to residences... so...
thats true stereos pretty close to some condos, but not thaaaaaat close, i mean the closest apart is a block down, you can barellly hear the music from there, circus is much closer to aparts than stereo was imo
