Want ot play at Anu? I didnt bring any CDs or laptop with me to work and im not going home to pick them up, its out of the way. i can see if i can borrow Alex's CDs or you can just play the whole time

Posted by DaveT on Nov-07-2008 20:17:

I was thinking more of a house party lol. My ghetto setup isn't equipped for a club. Well, I could maybe get away with it lol. It's all at home though, so don't know if I could make it home and back to Anu in a timely manner (that matters).

Got a new temp laptop at work, but it's 14-15lb (it's desktop-quad-core-CPU desktop replacement laptop...a monster!) and I have to install WinXP Corp on it before I can install Ableton on it.

That's gonna be my temp solution until January, where I can hopefully get a new smaller lapotp or a new MacBook Pro. We'll see.

This brings back to Space550 Boneveld SF about 2001 or 2002 (correct if i'm wrong) when Darude pulse in the middle of his set interact with the audience, record the crowd, continue his set then mix the live audience recording into the set.
That was amazing. Hope everyone participat, just do it! It'll be really fun!!!

Mang, what a crazy fun night!!

Got there a tad after 11 and the place was already nice and full!!

Randy Boyer did a great job opening up for Darude. Having seen Darude start off rather progressive in the past, was wondering if Randy maybe got a bit too energetic, but NOPE!!!

Darude came on and played a GREAT set. Lots of great prog-trance. And it never got stale...

Yes, he played a remix of Sandstorm but he put it in the set at the perfect time and it didn't stop the momentum of his set....which was bangin!

Oh, watchout for Darude and his productions. He played a couple new tracks of his last night (I think Randy helped him produce them? not sure....Darude would get on the mic and tell the audience) and man they sounded great. One of them I REALLY REALLY want. Darude, I accept promos lol.

Was great to see Taj again. Haven't rally been in town on Saturday nights at all really in the last two months or so I would say and haven't been able to stop by Ten15 (will be there next Saturday if I'm not in LA though!). He came out and Bang Bang Bippity Bang. I honestly didn't hear enough of it to give a proper impression. What I did hear was great, though!

I got scammed into thinking we were going to someone's place in Daly City, where I could just catch a bus to right near my place starting at 6am from the Daly City Bart Station, but nooooo....end up in San Mateo...lol. I ended up playing Lyndsay's CDs for 4 hours. You prob don't care, but it was actually my first time really using CDJs...Well since like 2001, but those weren't even Panasonic CDJs. I think I did OK. Probably better than most people who are starting up a CDJ for the first time (and have no vinyl experience). I actually really, really liked playing with CDs. Damnit, someone buy me some CDJs!

Anyway, super fun night. The music was great. The crowd was real good and very energetic, and everyone just had good vibes in the place. Was nice to see most people out and having fun together. Haven't been able to do that in awhile.

Darude played at Space550?

I thought he didn't even start touring as DJ until like 2003. When I talked to him about his time playing at Mezzanine way back then, he said it was when he just started travelling as a DJ and that was one of his first gigs...

I could be wrong..I didn't know that was his first time in SF (if it was) until he told me that himself.

too bad I couldn't go.

I still maintain that Darude is one of the most underrated djs. he never disappoints.

I know. I've been saying for years. Know a lot of poeple saw him for the first time last night and not one person I know went away unimpressed. If anything, they were all very impressed!!

last night was awesome. I have never seen Randy Boyer before and he blew my mind away. I am not a great fan of his live sets. I did not know what to expect with Darude and it totally went off the hook. I really love his style! He really knows how to pump up the crowd and is really bouncy. Taj never disappoints. The whole night was pretty amazing. I give it a massive thumbs up!
