Apparently, and unusually for a charter, they have 35" pitch throughout economy so you might get lucky. I can understand the need for premium economy, I'm 6ft and ended up on a ski charter a few years back from Lyon to Gatwick that was the legal minimum 28" pitch. Ow! I don't do economy longhaul |
i went to dubai for new years 2006, Its unlike any other city in the world, Its one of the most ultrad mordern, ultra cosmopolitan cities in the world, in terms of architecture and the ppl. I alwys thogut being a Muslim country, they would have all kinds of restrictions, but to my surprise, there where hardly any women to be seen in veils, i thought finding alcohol would be a prob but ppl there drink like crazy, we even went to a strip club in dubai, prostitution is there on a very large scale, Cars on the road'd i dont even wanna talk about those they had 7 series,5 series, audi's, hummers like we see corollas in America, Plus lamborgini's ferraris etc.
Architecturally they have some insane stuff we can only see in cartoons. Plus i saw a whole one hour documenty about dubai on discovery, Tentacle shaped building, rotating tower, Under water hotel(hydropolis), 4 of the worlds tallest buildings, Indoor seeking, Restaurant made of ice, Palm Island, the world island,Burj al arab the worlds only 7star hotel, the world biggest arc bridge and biggest fountain are under construction. but too bad they use labor exported from india and pakistan and pay them like $7 a day.
first class... why? it's just transportation. get some fucking sleep or read something

| Originally posted by fbgdavidson First Class internationally is a quality experience, one I enjoy and one I value. I can't sleep in economy, I don't even find it comfortable, in fact I'd say it is miserable for more than a couple of hours! That's why. I don't expect everyone to justify it, that's why you'll find around a dozen seats in the front of the plane and about 200 in the back. When I'm going on holiday getting there is part of the experience for me. The thought of having to cram myself into an economy seat for 12hrs on the way home takes the shine off the last few days of the trip. There are some things we all value in life and others can't justify. I can't see why anyone would spend $10,000 on some rims for their car, that has absolutely zero value for me. |

| Originally posted by gehzumteufel I value quality very much, but I can usually just deal with flying a couple (read: max of 5hrs) hours on a flight a little cramped instead of paying 1800 for a flight that would usually cost me 600 in economy. |

| Originally posted by fbgdavidson Well simply that's because your pricepoint where you think is buyup is worth it is lower than mine. I don't blindly purchase First or Business on shorthaul as I don't value the product as much (longhaul is a very different matter). On shorthaul there are several factors I take into account; the price of economy versus First/Business, the product (some airlines use aircraft with international seating on certain domestic flights - nice!), even down to frequent flyer miles earned...To put into perspective on the $12k round the world trip I flew the frequent flyer miles earned from the trip were worth about $5000. I had a friend at Uni who said even if Business and Economy were the same price on a longhaul she'd fly down the back because it was less pretentious! |

Watch tonight on Discovery, a one hour Documentary on Dubai. I saw it a few weeks back. Definitely worth a watch.

Same here! Think I'll watch that.
The coke cans in Dubai are bigger than usual
this economic crisis is hitting Dubai though, they are now starting to have a harder time borrowing money as they are not paying money back as much as they are borrowing. I would not doubt it if this never gets funded.
