It was more a rant than how can he "really" be good at making EDM if it wasn't his background. I was more getting at the fact it sux he doesn't seem to respect the Dj scene or so the interviewer says he doesn't but he is so good at it.

Heck there might be some people on TA that need to go to R&B and maybe that will be a genre they might be better at..it just works like that

That said, here today gone tomorrow. In 5 years, remove the Mau5 and that is what will remain.

The practical success of an idea, irrespective of its inherent merit, is dependent on the attitude of the contemporaries. If timely it is quickly adopted; if not, it is apt to fare like a sprout lured out of the ground by warm sunshine, only to be injured and retarded in its growth by the succeeding frost. ~ Nikola Tesla

It looks like Deadmau5 caught the contemporaries of our time yet pissed off a large amount now in the process.

I highly doubt this, this dude is pretty much set his hands in the edm star walk of fame, he could come out with a track that has sounds of dolphins having sex and he could pretty much hit top 10 beatport, hes going to stick around for a while. I highly admired his productions when he started but not his recent ones, I think paul kalkbrener is way more talented!!!

What I found hilarious is he went to play in El Paso recently where I am sure he wouldn't have made as much money if he played in San Antonio instead. I think he read up on our local TX/TA threads and knew he wasn't welcome. But that's just a thought, I don't know what his promoters line him up at but the way he makes himself sound is like he is in control of all aspects of his own production and choice of venues. I think Jonas scared him when he said and I quote "I'm still gonna hold him down the next time I see him and brush his teeth" That was mint & gold at the same time. lmaO x 100

Probably not the case. He is much more hated in NY and still plays there from time to time. Yeah, the people that know and follow the music the most know what a total douchebag the guy is. But there are plenty of sheep that are naive enough to think he's a musical genius and 'the coolest guy in the business'.

Your last statement contradicts your first one and makes Lance's point for him. Yeah, when he first hit the scene, everyone said 'wow, look at this guy'. He hasn't made anything decent since then. Making tracks like "Hi Friend" and following it up with a track called "Bye Friend" that sounds exactly the same will do that to you. His 'Star' as you called it has already started to flame out. Even Kaskade is catching hell from the house community for partnering with dipshit. His credibility and integrity took a bit of a hit with those guys.
