You obviously have no pallet for scotch if you can only drink the most expensive thing you can find, and have the utter gaul to say that ALL less expensive single malts are like crap.

I suggest you sample your next bottle of whisky when nobody is watching, and see which taste really stacks up against which!

its not even close to the most expensive scotch I could find or have had.

Maybe I don't have a pallet for scotch and I wouldn't consider myself a scotch drinker. I only drink it on special occassions and then usually with friends....its no different then saving that good bottle of wine for when you are celebrating something.

Talisker is fucking incredible! I don't know too much about Scotch Whiskey but when I tried this one I was really impressed.

Anybody here try Walker Blue? I dream about it.....

It's because your names both begin with the same two letters...

Scappa, Glenfiddich 21 and Glenmorangie for me

Shame Talisker's going up in price though - always found it had a very unique taste.

Agreed; however, I'd broaden that to include all blended Scotchs.

Only once. It's fantastic, as far as blended Scotchs go. I'd take a premium single malt over it though... especially considering the cost.

Nothing like waking up in the morning and reading the snarky comments you posted while drunk the night before.

In my defense, I was drunk on Glenfarkas 15, Isle of Jura Superstition, and Lagavulin 1991 Distillers Edition. (The Lagavulin was fucking fantastic.)

Posted by LKD on Nov-07-2008 15:01:

i guess from this thread we can derive that when drunk on scotch one can be snarky? lol

No Johnny Walker Red is the McDonald's of Scotch. Chivas is the Wendy's

Sounds like you could use one of the following:

Glenrothes

Tullabardine

Cragganmore

Blair Athol

Mortlach

All of those typically don't possess the smokey, peaty business that so many new to scotch take time to learn to love.
