-- Deadmau5....the new tiesto??

Deadmau5 is definately taking DJing/Live Sets to a different level...he is becoming a leader for the future of DJing and also Entertaining the club goer. Any videos I've seen of his bigger productions just shows that he is taking things in a different direction and using technology to his advantage.
I'm not the biggest fan of his sound and I think he has a lot of maturing to do but what he does will be the future of DJing.

I think Joel has the ability and marketing knowledge to do pretty amazing things. The big thing that is hard to tell at this point is does he have staying power.
Someone like Tiesto has been at the top for such a long time and there's a reason for it. With Joel he's so 'new' and 'fresh' to everyone that it's almost gimmicky to a point to go see him perform. Not to say the talent and skill isn't there, but everyone does want to see what all the fuss and hype is about with the guy in the fucking helmet.
Is he going to be as big as Tiesto? Maybe, but it will take a long time to see if that can happen because what Tiesto has brought to dance music has taken likely 2 decades of time to build and grow.
Would be pretty badass though for Canadians if he did hit that level.

activate: that is different.
Tiesto's music was very similar to oakenfold and the timing was perfect. Oakenfold was changing over to more progressive after the 1999 era when tiesto was coming full into his epic trance. The changing was very smooth. Armin's music is very similar to tiesto. The paths are obvious if you look who is going to be big when tijs role ends if ever! It will obviously be armin. Now look at ferry corsten, starting his own concerts is following the other dutch guys. The paths seem pretty obvious.
Deadmaus5's music does not have the worldwide appeal. Its his gimmick that people are attracted to and his stupid custome. $50 bucks says he will drop in the next two years.
He came in calgary in january, you know what many people went when i asked them? "his whole outfit looks cool, maybe it is a show like daft punk? "
Tiesto has been doing it since pre 1998 and is arguably one of the the best trance dj's if you look at all the work he has done since the beginning. Joel is just a fad.
i love you so much deadmau5 i want to bare your child

i;m not from calgary and it is a fucking gimmick. why else would he release track after track that sounds the same and "remixes"of classics that fail?
