So I take it you personally checked the bbc radio 1s website the next day and physically purchased those mixmag and dance magazines and flicked through the pages? Being sarcastic doesnt get us the name of the track. I check the archives for the bbc website and unfortunately theirs only 3 entries for 1999. but I did come across a great Oakey interview from the time. so I might aswell post it here

Why was it so important for you to become a resident at Cream as opposed to a regular guest?

Im a true resident. Its a term that has been batted about by other DJs who play just once a month. That isnt a resident and never has been, what happens on the other three weeks of the month? Im there every week whether it is snowing, raining or sunshine and it is hard but it is worthwhile because the people who go there truly understand where I am coming from, what I am trying to do and what I am trying to give back. I only play one club a night, I play a long set, I hang out before and talk to the crowd and stick around after. I dont just turn up, play, then leave.

I put a lot into it and I think people realize that and take part. There is a lot of audience participation involved.

Makes you LOL when you see the Las Vegas "Residency" and the comments about showing up before and staying around after to hang out with the crowd. I guess the joke is on us for those who yearn for the late 90's state of dance music. Reading stuff like this makes it more and more difficult to respect Pauls DJ "career" - I wish he would either do it the way it should be done or just quit trying to squeeze the $$'s out of it.

I think we should send someone over to Oakenfold's place to check up on Kenneth Thomas; he may have been stuck under a collapsed pile of records for the past several days.

Can I add to the digital release request by asking for the Original Mix of Jan Johnston - Am I On Pause to be released?

Can't believe a double pack was released on perfecto without this mix being on it, travesty!

Agreed!

I know its not a Perfecto track, but the Original mix of Slackers - God Damn Noise is also one of the original mixes from his Sydney EM that I'd love to see.

Not to threadcap, but this might be the best place to ask it. I've been listening to some of these classic mixes lately.

The question is, where is the best place to get some of these individual tracks. Beatport doesn't have many of them. Is that just the problem since these tracks are so old/rare that they're generally hard to come by?

Any other place to look?

Most of these are only on vinyl, but you might get lucky and find a CD maxi as well, but they probably cost more.

I have ordered dozens of records from GEMM sellers and they are usually spot on.

Goddam Noize was released in 2005, but I think the main consensus then was that it is not the same version of it that Oakenfold and the others were playing, and not as good.

Not even as close to as good. I don't think it even has the same sample as the one from 99.

It sounds very Andy Grayish and was featured in Fifa 2001.

Hope that helps?

I have this CD from 1999 and about 5 other CD's from Paul in that era I will try and track it down.

I probably have all the CDs you have as well... It's not in full length on any of them.

I think it's on the set where he opens up with Nalin & Kane - Open Your Eyes but yeah your right having the track on a CD from an old set isn't gonna give a producers name or track title.

For now forth it shall be called "Oaknefolds Door Bell"

It's called "The Source - Fly Away"

I threw out my CD booklet from that Essential Millennium compilation, but it *may* have had producer credits inside. Highly doubtful, though.

Are you talking about the first track on that Essential or did you just ID the track?
