Right, so I'll have to go to a chemist (drug store) or something, and not necessarily a doc?

Edit: Yeah, it makes sense that it'd be from a chemist. Americans don't like going to doctors because they cost money, right?

LOL no we can go to the local shop and get it in the health section usually.

I'm sure just a marketing technique to get people to believe it's better than the other products.

Despite the reviews saying that it (the product) actually works better? Dunno mate.

I use this. Smell is not bad, but it keeps me dry.

Quite possible, but I highly doubt that it is the same as the other stuff. Placebo effect doesn't work on BO.

the aqua cool is good too, dry is ok & does the sweaty pit business whilst a good cologne will give a better smell to others.

Not saying that your deodorants are the same as every other average deodorants out there. I just think that "prescription strength" items maybe have some extra ingredients that the others don't, thus causing it to have a little extra in the price tag as well.

The term prescription strength is just another way to say stronger, improved, or any those other terms you always hear, imo.

Not disagreeing here at all.

Any deodorant works just fine, but I usually use this...

I hate wet deodorants, only use dry. Wet ones are cold, icky to apply, and later on they melt and armpits feel slimy. Used to buy Right Guard, now Axe. Pretty much the same. Dry deodorants leave crumbles under the pits though.

Are you really saying there's stuff out there to stop the wetness? Is that even healthy? I never gave much thought to it.

Also, I kind of wish to stop using aluminum-based deodorants - they visibly discolor my skin and give me irritation. The 'all-natural' one I tried from Whole Foods (Tom's or something) did not, but it also worked like crap (for half a day in pretty mild conditions) - would not wear it to the gym.

I agree with all of your complaints. From what I've seen, all of the deodorants that stop wetness are the ones that contain aluminum, which are the same ones that discolor and ruin your clothes. I have never tried these "prescription strength" ones that bas and others have mentioned though.

Rock salt I believe is the best I've used in terms of ridding odors, and it leaves virtually nothing on your skin after applying (unlike others where it feels like you have a layer of junk on) and lasts well over 24 hours.

I'm sure deodorants' effectiveness probably depends on the user's skin. So maybe it works great for me, but not for others. Much like how colognes and perfumes smell better/worse on different people with different skin.
