Nah. Too much money for what it is.

I'll probably stick with my N82 though, as having a proper Xenon flash on my Camera is more important than 3G data.

PS: Playing Quake III Arena on my N82 now.

i dont see why I would downgrade from 6gb to 500mb lolol... especially when I'd be paying pretty much the same price... and I'm sure Enhanced Voicemail isn't the same as Visual Voicemail..

No no no. That $30 is EVERYTHING in. The 6GB is just $30 on its own, on top of another $30ish or so plan for voice/text/whatever.

i understand that, but you don't get vvm, one of my fav parts of my phone, so why would i pay 15 for the iphone essentials, and then 30 for the new data + txt + voicemail +cid package when the iphone essentials plan right now covers the extras (caller id, 2500 sent txts, visual voicemail, whocalled) and i get an extra 5.5gb of data usage at my leisure haha..

plus with a little bitching every now and then you can always get that 15 dollar plan credited (as I have done), making it way more than worth it to stick to my original plan as of now..

Posted by VERTiG0 on Nov-28-2008 23:22:

So then how much do you pay per month for your iPhone?

Posted by E2EK1EL on Nov-28-2008 23:36:

The diff packages for diff phones ... VOICE MAIL WISE

BB & WM = EVM
iPhone = VVM

100% confirmed for the iPhone to have VVM, i;m running it as we speak.

Now, too bad cloning my sim card is illegal in North America ... i would turn on data on my Treo for TomTom and Garmin, LIVE traffic updates!

Here’s little research I did and the reason of my data count …

http://www.boygeniusreport.com/ = 1.7 MB!!!
Wheather = 1K
Facebook = 4K
Fring (Real Time MSN) = 100k for 15 mins

Not gonna surf on BoyGeniusReport on 3G, like I normally do on a computer. *I check that site at least 1000x a day Now I understand why they come out with those apps and truly 100% greatful!

Does anyone know how much data is used for a 4 min Youtube video?

What's this iphone essentials thing...

And I checked my bill...

Going in the 600-700 MB range every month

For the iphone it does include VVM as many users have reported on howardforums.

I dont use data that much so this plan saved me $15/mth!!

Not that $200+ is surprising or that extreme depending on options and functions/features (esp with data),

but WOW I simply cant imagine spending that much a month on a cell phone / smart phone bill!!

I pay just shy of $50 for all my features (no data).

Just switched over to the new plan.

Saving $30/month now

Thanks John, this is great news.

Saving $1080+ taxes over next 3yrs, whoop!

Posted by jalalinator on Nov-29-2008 20:44:

I pay about 70-80 dollars a month but starting this month I dont pay for the data anymore..

Posted by DigiNut on Nov-29-2008 21:25:

Looks like Fido has it too, for $25 ($30 gets you 1 GB). Haven't really researched how it stacks up against the Rogers plan, but either way it looks like it's time to get off my shitty $25 / 5 MB data plan.

Just switched over too..

I was debating as I had to lose my 6GB plan, however I'm saving $15/month (so $540+ taxes over the next 3 yrs).

I use data on my pearl quite a bit and on average I've been using 30mb-50mb a month, which includes tethering. There is no way that i'm going to go over 500mb a month. Especially on EDGE.

Plus i'm trying to save some money! $60/month now for my phone is pretty good for pretty much unlimited everything. (unlimited for me. I don't have to worry about when I use my phone).

Finally I can afford to have data on my phones and to tell you the truth; it’s a really nice package Roger’s assembled for us. It covers everything of everything we all need.

I’m really glad everyone switched over and extremely glad we saved a lot of money!

I've had data on my phone since January of last year, and I think I've re-newed my 3-year contract like 6 times since then lol

Everytime it gets cheaper and cheaper!

Just called in to confirm ...

If I reach over my limits, here are the charges for the iPhone Data Value Package

Data - 1MB = $0.03
Txt Msgs - 1 = $0.15

Oh ... that's really nice, 1GB!

yay 2100mhz 3g.

fuck.

Posted by E2EK1EL on Nov-30-2008 18:42:

2 min Youtube video = 1.7 MB & it's low res. (It's kinda good they did this to save us bandwith & limits)

Not worth it at all.

i wish i could go back to the days where i had my city fido plan $40 dollars for unlimited everything!

I called rogers today and brought up all the plans you guys mentioned, im even ledgable for the EPP plan (which is wikked, excpet you sign up for another 3 year term). The lady laughed at me when she saw my previous bills and told me id have surcharges to the max if i switch but i got my dad on the EPP and added the $30 (10000SMS, 10000MMS, CID, EVM or VVM, Who-Called, and 500MB) data plan thanks for the heads up E2EK1EL.

Posted by E2EK1EL on Dec-01-2008 00:12:

Both the EPP & Value Data Package plans are 3 yr terms. It's a given fact that all plan changes are 3 yr terms from day one.

I love the 3 yr term, not like I'm going anywhere else & gonna use roger's for the rest of my life.

Even when you claim to leave, they're gonna tranfer you to the retention dept & give you a deal you can't say no to @ at.

Didn't get that from Telus. It was about 5-6 years ago but nevertheless, they didn't seem to give a f*ck.

Really ? Telus is known for giving shit away to keep you on their networks.

I had them for 2 months and left, those were the Clearnet days ... lol
