| Originally posted by slingshot no way...listen to that ready mix sessions mix he just released not too long ago....pretty rippin' (and I dare to say it) tribal influenced techno. It's definately not slow, and it's definately not tech house. Lawler right now sounds like 2002 Lawler. |

This thread is gold thanks guys!
Today Viva Music [l] boss Steve Lawler [a] played Beatportal a cheeky preview of his fresh-out-of-the-studio track Panderio, and after listening to it, it seems the British DJ and producer will continue this year down the drum-heavy carnival house route that he started in 2008.
Steve Lawlers recent Kalimba release on R & S, plus his Carnival track on Tanzbar Musik [l] showed that Lawler had moved away from the darker, more progressive sounds that had propagated his sets for the last few years, towards more organic and drum led house music.
Were not allowed to say much about Panderio as theres still label agreements yet to be signed, but can reveal that its a lengthy symphony of South American-style percussion, soulful vocals, trumpets and subtle arrangement flourishes - its the return of the old Steve Lawler, but this time the dark drums are partying in the sunshine.
Asides from Panderio, Lawler is currently remixing Berlin-based soundsystem junkie Radioslaves new single Koma Koma, which should further raise his profile within the underground techno sphere.
Considering its only January, 2009 could be a big year for Steve Lawler
