Thanks, but no thanks.

Its obviously "just not your style".
How arrogant/narcissitic can someone possibly be?

I'm in now just because of this statement.

Nothing like a bunch of people trying to be positive/constructive & someone comes in with this kind of crap. Very professional.

it's a great track anyway: imo (as you say )
i enjoy this style anyway

Posted by Acton on Dec-11-2008 10:55:

Even if you don't like the track, just remix it into something you do like .

Maybe Alonzo didn't wrap up his comments too nicely but I do think his comments are accurate. They describe some of the rather obvious problems the original has. I like the track, but I still agree with most of the remarks Alonzo made.

"Obviously it's not your style" most definitely does not apply to his remarks, even if it is the case. There's work to be done.

Indeed, i felt that the track could have been much better produced, if someone takes offense then it is too bad because it is just criticism. I was reluctant to have my thread hijacked by this because i thought it wouldn't materialize, and i didn't listen to the track before hand either. I was initially hoping a more prominent artist would have volunteered...hence i just abandoned the thread after the infestation begun to take place.

And about remixing the track to solely provide promotion for you and your label, i speak on behalf of all the producers who consider themselves above average here; that it really isnt worth the time and effort. You can polish a turd but it will never truly shine.

Yes because your overpriced software will allow you to make amazing tracks. And i highly doubt you even own a legal copy FFS.

well what a shame to go and undermined your self as a ta producer.

Posted by atxbigballer1 on Dec-12-2008 02:00:

The real reason why i am in the contest is because i would like to see more TA Remix contests! And thats my real reason! I know i may not win but i will take a shot!

Your first sentence I thought you were understanding my sarcasm.
Your second sentence convinced me it blew over your head completely with the "FFS".

If you still missed it.

"Could have been produced much better"

I'm sure 100% of your tracks meet the same criteria, and all the "above average" producers as well.

Also, I should note this is most likely the reason TA doesn't do remix contests like this.
BECAUSE, even when we find a song 8 out of 10 people agree with,
we still have 2 out of 10 babies coming in here whining and trying to disassemble the whole effort.

Also, if you think you are capable of organizing a better competition, then do it. Just wait a few months till we're ready again, and prove us wrong.

If you are NOT willing to go to that extent, THEN NOTHING **NOT ONE SINGLE THING** that comes into your posts has ANY credence, at all.
Because YOU refuse to make an effort to do something better.

That is called a hypocrit, in a very logical insightful not so obvious to people who have no insight - way.

Also, when I take a shit, it shines. Because its wet, and my poop always shines. (just for the record here)

Im convinced that it was not sarcasm because you said in a different thread.

Or am i missing something? Because pleading sarcasm is usually what idiots do to justify/rationalize mistakes that they made.

If not for me, this contest would not exist. Until people came in and gang raped my initial thread there was actually about to be a contest started that im sure would have been more popular and appealing to all the members.

Ending. This. Shit.

Posted by airwalker1 on Dec-12-2008 04:02:

just as well as you have only gone and hijacked it anyway.

of course it's not a perfect track, paul van dyk isnt on t.a offering his latest blockbuster, it's a very nice guy trying to meet people in the scene offering his hard work to us who are interested.

this is a remix contest: you're meant to work to make it better and maybe you think it's absolute shit, but i like it and i'm making music for fun

If you dont like the tune don't participate. How hard is it?

bearing as such, I'm changing from a 3 hour format to a 1 hour format in the new year to accommodate more classes (and now even being a board director for the station) weird anywho

The competititon will be based on this track

http://williamashley.info/NVS/compo_4.zip

PM me once you have something. This compo is open to all people but you need to have flstudio to access the file (even a demo copy will allow you to extra the midi (but you must do this yourself)
Have you started another thread for this? Anyways, this is what i have done so far [[ LINK REMOVED ]]
. Not done at all, still needs 2-3 more melodies. Also, probably will add some 303, a breakbeat, and chopped vocals.

Damn, why is almost every thread eventually end up flaming another. C'mon guys, we are here because we all share the passion to make music, so just quit it.

If you like the track or not is a matter of taste. I like the elements used in the track, but I'm not fond of the vocal, it's indeed out of sync, so I'll probably end up making a dub version of this track.

Yeah, this forum has been pretty negative for a long time. Seems that when producers get bored or frustrated with making music, they hop online to talk shit to each other.

I think we'd all be better off if we spent the shit-talking time on writing tracks.

so lets get back on track then.good idea as regards to a dub. agreed the vocal has been left how vortex wanted. so im looking at choping it up and playing around with it a bit.

question thoe are we allowed to talk about ideas? as rule 5 has me a little comfused.

Well with saying ideas you don't actually let your remix hear. I'm going for a deeper dub on this one, bit techy. I think it's working out quite well actually!

Legitimately look forward to hearing it.
