Once they started coming out with updates, hacks, and a better web browser, this phone is great. I haven't had any problems, and once they finally came out with an Opera Mini version for the Instinct, surfing web pages is a breeze.....even easier than the IPhone IMO. The touch screen keyboard defaults to being used horizontally, which is WAY more convenient. GPS is solid as well, and I'm a big Apple fan from the get-go!

+1. Tried opera on my old HTC devices and it was just crap. Opera on my samsung Omnia is the best mobile browsing I've experienced, period. Way better than iphone/WM IE or plus.

Dude, read the posts. there is NO PERMANENT UNLOCK FOR THE IPHONE. Apple are only going to make it harder in future generations.

yellowsn0w unlocks 2.2, and all earlier base bands.

every time an update comes out, it usually takes them from a few days to a week or 2 to unlock the new firmware.

now that they jumped the 2.2 hurdle, its only going to be easier for them.

It is still not permanent. Plain and simple.

I was aware of yellowsn0w though. I am just not keen on this damn gay ass shit anymore. My phone never gets locked again. It is permanently unlocked. I can change radios, firmware, etc. No big deal. That is a major advantage for me with my HTC device.
