Originally posted by Sushipunk I'm sure they checked to see if I was eligible to to have a drivers license. They also checked to make sure I could drive. Did they check to see if you could shoot a gun in a safe manner? Something as simple as an eyesight exam, for example?

Originally posted by Orbital32 I'm sure they did not call the FBI to verify if you were able to drive, which by federal law is what any firearm dealer has to do. By the way, yes you can buy a car with no license. As long as licensed driver is with you and the car is insured by the time you leave the lot. Which is unlike buying a gun. Only the person getting the background check is the only person allowed to buy a gun.
can i ask why you have that much heat in the first place? just out of curiosity.

try killing something with a knife. it gives you a different perspective on death when you have to feel a living thing dying and you can't simply shot and look away: pussies!
once i get restricted firearm license, planning to get an M4 and a Glock17
once you've shot a rocket launcher though, rifles just dont get the adrenaline going as much anymore

Originally posted by Sushipunk Ok, it's good that you were trained, I wasn't sure. I'll ease up ![]() I'm curious to know then: What's your opinion regarding the easy sale of deadly weapons to 'untrained' civilians in your country?

Originally posted by Orbital32 Here it is left up to the individual states on how somebody guys a weapon. In CA, you do have to have a license to buy a concealable weapon. They also have a waiting period as well. They also restrict the sale of "assault" type weapons as well. concealable weapons have to be registered, but rifles and shotguns do not. I live in Arizona. We have the most relax gun laws in the country. anybody who passes a background check is allowed to walkout with any weapon in a matter of minutes. Arizona allows the sale of "assault" type weapons (semi only) and the possession/transfer of "machine gun" type weapons. No weapons have to be registered. I believe that all weapons should be registered with the government. I personally don't care if they ban assault type weapons either. I don't believe that they have to tested to make sure they know how to shoot. A dealer should make sure that a person knows how to check to see a weapon is loaded, how to clear a weapon, how to put a weapon on safe, and how to lock the weapon so that childern can not activate it. Maybe even sign some documentation to state that it was done.

Originally posted by Sushipunk From my perspective, all of that still seems like a remarkably easy way to procure a deadly weapon. This is to say nothing of the fact that this 'ease' would be fueling an enormous black market for guns. I'm not naive enough to think that there are no guns in Australia, despite our strict firearm laws, but here it's FUCKING hard for some some unstable weirdo to just go out and buy a device that could end multiple lives within seconds. Legally purchased, or otherwise. I just think there is no necessity for guns

Originally posted by Sushipunk Ok, that's pretty fucking intense. Do you feel no anger, though, at the people who made that firearm accessible to that particular guy? The government's lax gun laws? From a situation like that, you should be more anti-gun than anyone, but you seem to have embraced gun culture as acceptable, knowing what the potential results can be?
