so... it's not Easter weekend. Why don't you try to make it to the Acosta show anyway?

I know you were so pumped about Acosta, you got me really thinking about checking him out. Unfortunately, I didn't know about the show early enough, and didn't take time off from work. Wa-waaaaaa... no dice. Also, it feels like a double whammy because the show is at the Mark, which I really want to check out.

I am certainly going to keep on the lookout for him in the future.

Posted by trancension on Apr-01-2009 00:49:

It's a pretty big hassle to get to my house from school. My house is where my car is. I need my car to get to The Mark. So since it's a lot of trouble to go home 2 weekends in a row, and I need to go home for Easter...I won't be going home this weekend =/

So where as I guess I should thank you for pointing out I don't need to go home because it does save me some pain. It does essentially rob me of seeing Acosta =/

Posted by trancension on Apr-01-2009 01:04:

Not like it's a big deal though. One of the things that makes Acosta so great is the fact he does come to Atlanta so often. I'm sure he'll be back again before the year is over.

ARMIN TOMORROW THOUGH, YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I see.

Well, at any rate, I like your enthusiasm about Acosta. Good stuff. I want to point out that I wasn't pointing out that it wasn't Easter weekend this coming weekend... I think Liquified was the one that broke the bad news. And, then that funny backhand pic was posted, which I thought was funny in general, hence the "ouch." Certainly wasn't meant to be posted in a rubbing-it-in fashion that Acosta is this Friday and not Good Friday.

By the way, my sister and I are going to Armin tomorrow too!!! I'm so excited for some uplifting trance! Maybe we'll be able to catch up at the show. My game plan for Diggers was to be front and center. Not so with Armin, I'm going to try and roam around Opera a little more.

Ya, I love Acosta's style, always plays a great set in my opinion

I'll continue to hound one of my friend's with a car to come out, and who knows, maybe they'll cave; and I got myself a ride

Posted by Liquified on Apr-01-2009 03:15:

where do you go to school?

Posted by trancension on Apr-01-2009 04:34:

Tech.

2 mile walk there, 3 hours of dancing and then 2 mile walk back isn't my cup of tea.

And I literally can't afford a taxi. Living pay check to pay check...and I've already spent my next pay check! So I have no cash. Putting another $15 on my card for a ticket though is still manageable...cause it is Acosta!

Posted by DJ Blitzkrieg on Apr-01-2009 05:28:

IM SOOOOO PUMPED. I can't wait for him to play Distant Destiny! I am going to loooose my mind!!!!

Posted by trancension on Apr-01-2009 05:56:

Oi!

His hour from UMF:

01. Bobina - Invisible Touch (Ferry Corsten Remix)
02. Neptune Project - Aztec
03. Nitrous Oxide - Magenta
04. Wippenberg vs. Marc Vision - Chakalaka's Time Gate (Armin van Buuren Remash)
05. Armin van Buuren feat. Jaren - Unforgivable (Stoneface & Terminal Dub)
06. Ummet Ozcan - Timewave Zero
07. 3rd Moon - Monsun
08. Reverse - Distant Destiny
09. Armin van Buuren feat. Sharon den Adel vs. Jochen Miller - In & Out Of Connection (Armin van Buuren Mashup)
10. Veracocha - Carte Blanche (Cosmic Gate Remix)

Posted by DJ Blitzkrieg on Apr-01-2009 12:00:

Just listened to that that twice. I love his transition to Magenta.

Is there any way you can get a ride to the show and get dropped off. Eliminate part of the distance. A two mile walk back isn't that bad. You'd probably be feeling a pretty nice high after the show Two miles wouldn't feel like you were in for a marathon to get back home or anything. However, I don't know about the neighborhoods around tech, if it's dangerous, walking would be an entirely different story, especially that late.

...! Tonight! I'll be there, and I'm hoping for a lengthy set -- but considering that Glenn Morrison is touring with him, what are the chances that it will be abbreviated? What time do you expect Armin to hop on the decks?

(Figuratively, I mean, but judging from past AVB experiences at Opera, I'm sure that he'll also literally hop up on the decks.)

Glenn Morrison - 10-11:45
Armin 11:45 - close

Nice! Thanks, Liquified.

Posted by trancension on Apr-01-2009 15:07:

I'm gonna try to get there early as balls

Glenn Morrison is no slouch!

Posted by Calamar on Apr-01-2009 16:06:

Yeah, I'll be there from 10pm until 3am, as planned, and I'm intensely thrilled and grateful that Atlanta gets two awesome electronica artists tonight. I was just curious how that time would be allocated, 'cause I do have a preference, you know?

As some others have said, it's cool that we're increasingly seeing producers that don't visit our city on an annual basis. Truth be told, though the huge trance DJs consistently give us an epic experience, I might trade a Paul van Dyk or a Tiesto for a JOC, Ronski Speed, Gareth Emery, Super8 & Tab, DJ Shah *, or Daniel Kandi, to name a few.

[* assuming that he visits during the summer.]

Posted by mistiso on Apr-01-2009 16:16:

Will be there ready for the doors to open. Won't be leaving until I'm forced out.

Tonight should be epic

Maybe I'll bump into some folks I've yet to meet from here.

Cheers all!

Posted by PVDfan07 on Apr-01-2009 16:30:

Sadly, it looks like I will not be making it. I can't afford 35 dollars for tickets plus 10 for parking. I need to save all the money I can for shows later in the month. Looking forward to hear how it is.

Posted by trancension on Apr-01-2009 16:42:

Gareth Emery would be epic.

Are you bringing a sign this time? :P

By the way, I ran into you at last year's show, if my memory serves me well. I'm the guy who freaked out during Binary Finary's 1998. I couldn't quite hear what you were saying, but I think you corrected me and remarked that it was actually a mashup with 1998. If so, good call.

Sorry to hear that, Zach! See you at the next one.

Man that's awesome!

Gareth Emery and ATB might be the last two DJs I *need* to see.

This is my first time w/ Armin sadly - I had tickets to his show last year @ WMC in Miami, and the stupid choice to go to Ultra during to day messed us up, as by the time we got there the fire marshal shut the line down. Ugh. Finally tho right

Posted by Big Worm on Apr-01-2009 20:48:

All right! Exciting times ahead! WooT!!!

I'm gonna try to get there between 9-10.

Posted by DJ Blitzkrieg on Apr-01-2009 22:26:

Is there a good time to try to get a pic with Armin? I bought an expensive ass VIP ticket so I really want to get a pic with him. I know the end is a terrible time because there are so many people trying to get a picture with him.
