I got a chicken tortilla soup there the other night. I ended up not eating it so I brought it to work the next day. Well, less than 12 hours of buying it, it had turned green and moldy already!

DISGUSTING!!!!

Mmmmmm... special seasoning perhaps

Bow to THE DEL.

If we had as many locations in the bay as you lucky bastards in LA do, then I'd be a fat mofo LOL.

Hmmm, I don't think so. I've had homemade soup for leftovers before, and it didn't turn rotten and green within 12 hours.

I just look at the green stuff as extra protein and nutrients, what doest kill you only makes you stronger

This is why I set my monthly food budget so high. You get what you pay for.

diets are stupid. what the hell is the point? just modify your eating habits so that you're eating healthy 80% of the time and then you can indulge the remaining 20%. this is the proper way to eat. if you manage to maintain an 80% healthy diet with regularity, you won't even feel the urge to indulge on that 20% most weeks. people don't realize that behaviors are dictated by habits and habits can be changed at will. eating processed foods is a habit. eating healthy is another habit. when you develop the habit of eating healthy, you acquire a taste for healthy foods and a distaste for highly-stimulating junk food. then you don't ever need to say foolish things like "i'm on a diet".

Well i am a perfect example on why diets are not stupid.

About 3-4 years ago i was pushing 280. I then started my "diet" and supplements. A year and a half later i was at 220. Granted i did a lot of exercise also, but i kept my SUPER strict diet at 100% and didn't break it the whole time. And i say diet because to me that's what it is. Cutting all processed foods, all Mexican food (my grandma hates me right now), all junk food. I am pretty much just living off of water, oatmeal, whole grain bread, lean turkey cuts, all the veggies, some fruits, all kinds of seafood, lean chicken cuts, power bars, tuna, tuna and more tuna.

To me it has to be a dramatic life change or it just wont work. I have to pretty much do everything back wards.

I am at around 240-250 right now. I bounced back up while being unemployed and not really "caring" about stuff. As soon as i got laid off i lost my exercise routine and then slowly my eating habits went to shit. I indulged the last year and now i am paying for it...

sure you can deprive yourself of calories for 30/60/90 days and you'll lose weight. but deprivation increases the reward value of food unless you substitute something you want more. and after you lose the weight, the old circuitry is still there. unless you've replaced it with new circuitry (new learning) if you're put back into your old environment, you continue to get bombarded by the old cues, so of course you'll gain the weight back. the trick is to learn new circuitry.
