What we get showed on TV and in movies isn't the way the ENTIRE speaking population speaks and people forget that.

english ...although i studied french for 5 years but forgot it, studied russian for 4 years and once again pretty much forgot that ALTHOUGH i can still read russian ok...every now and then feel guilty and read stuff/watch crappy russian television. i understand kikuyu (tribal language in kenya) though because that's one of three languages my parents speak.

Americans say "I know,uh", Mexicans say ' I know, huh' and Canadians say 'I know, eh'. No aboots. That's totally something Americans said and ran with. I've only ever heard and American say it imitating us. I've never heard an actual Canadian say it.

i actually like the way canadians speak english -- it's more of a cadence thing rather than actual phrases.

Danish (obviously), Swedish (half-assedly), enough Norwegian and Finnish to get around if I was lost, French (pretty good, I took it for 6 years), and very basic conversational Japanese. Oh, and English.
