We arrived just after 11 there was a bit of a line up but it went really fast. Guv was pretty empty and Tocadisco was up. I wasnt a huge fan of the first bit of his set (but Im sure he wasnt expecting to be be opening DJ, wtf happened to MO??)

Headed to Orange Room for a a little bit and one of the YM boys had the room slamming already.

Curiousity got the best of me and I decided to check out KH. It must have been Perry Ferrell. Holy fuck what a depressing place. Everyone was just standing there arms crossed looking like they were thinking about suicide. I ran out as fast as I could.

The tent from the KH to Guv was a STUPID idea... it was full of smokers and walking through burnt my eyes and lungs.

By now the guv was filling up quickly and Toca was picking it up. For the most part I was really impressed with what I heard. He was really good at bringing up the crowds energy. The whole room was a crazy party vibe. But I do really HATE that new Tiga track 'shoes'

I really liked Kascades set. First time seeing him. Everyone around me was having a great time. Lots of great tracks playing.

I for one liked Sharams little western intro. Maybe because I am such a 'noob' and it was my first time seeing something like this when a DJ comes to the decks. It got me excited... although I was a little WTF for a minute. I like the visuals for his set. I had very low expectations for him but overall his set was pretty good.

The sad part of the night... I went to Decadence pretty much for Crookers. But never was able to meet up with my friends in the KH. Tried to go find them but the place was so fucking weird. Some dude was trying to follow me around showing me his acid, people were just sitting on the floor sketching out, people were just smashing into me... I hated it.

Angello was OKAY. Pretty predictable. The first half was good... then I got bored FAST. He kept stopping the music for a couple seconds every once and while (not sure what that is called) and it REALLY annoyed me. I left just after 6:30

OTHER THOUGHTS:
I love d'luxe... I should have spent more time there

We found the perfect spot to dance, we always had just the right amount of room and sound was pretty good

Orange room's sound was FUCKED UP... ouch my ears

Carlo Lio is fucking sick

Most glow sticks I have ever scene at a house event

People sleeping on the roof of the patio (i wish I had actually seen this)

Running into Shay <3

This night was truly special because of the good friends, both new and old. Because of this alone it is one of my fav. parties. Thanks guys <3

Decadence was the most intense night since LOL. I felt so fuken comfortable with the crowd, i didnt see ANYONE spastiking out, and everyone was really cool and friendly. Didnt see any fights or overly drunk people.

A crowd determines the outcome of a night. House Music nights are always great.

Dj's-
Tocadisco- Just got in as he was hailing the crowd in his thick german accent. Thought he was done at that point, only to here him continue..i still left for KH in time to hear Bloody Beetroots.
BBR- Awesome mixes first time i heard them, crowd atmosphere was climaxing. Saw Jesse and Aoki chilling in the back rocking out to their beets (haha)
MSTRKFT- Creat compostition as usual. i think they play at a more make it up as you go along style rather then a previewed set. Everyone's hands were in the air loving it, really bringing it to a local level in such a large venue.
CROOKERS-Ok at best. all their songs seem to us the same electronic sound added to the backround.
Steve Aoki- Very interesting, first time actually hearing him play his own sets. Last time someone else was playing while he was rocking out with the crowd. He started playing rock and it change my mood. I love the classics, but i didn't come out to hear rock.
CARLO LIO- this guy wowed me, it was just amazing listening to this guy. I did not want to leave the room, but a group of my friends departed and i did not want to dance alone. Went back to GUv in time to see steve angello killing the house.
STEVE Angello- wow. thats it. i stayed till the very end and was still jamming to his awesome beats. Acid lounge was still well crowded and pumping. i heard this guy with ingrosso but i thought this time he was better (his choices of tracks seem to side with me).

All in all it was a prime night at guv right? Contact was dull for me, did not enjoy much of it. As my love for trance fades and my love for house and tech-house grows, i learn to appreciate these dj's a lot better. I can honestly not wait till skybar opens as well. Probably the only place in toronto where you can merge the glamour of the city, the beauty of the sunrise, and the pleasure of the music all at once....

I'll add that I really liked the decorations in Kool Haus. They were simple but pleasing. I loved how some got ripped down and were being flung around by people

Its a bootleg that Funkagenda made before he spun his set for Toolroom Knights at Space for WMC09. Doubt there are many copies floating around.

This was the only reason i came to decadance and it was SO 10000% worth it. His set was everything i was expecting to hear i just wish it was long and not at 11 pm. Highlights for me were when he dropped Shake it Down and Riverside OMG INSANITY!

After Toca was done I made my way to the Orange room where Joee was playing and he was having a total kick ass set and the room was going off.

Wondered around the KH for a bit and there is nothing i can say to really describe it other then that it was like nothing ive really seen before; people crowd surfing, running around on the stage, full on insanity. The music wasnt really doing it for me in there but the vibe was re fucking diculous!

The mainroom was stupidly packed and made me wanna kill people so i headed to the drink next where M&S were on. I dont really remember much of their set but i know i danced my butt off so it must have been good.

When they were done I caught a bit of Deko-ze's set, HOLY FUCK is all i can say.....no one plays closing sets like this guy! AND on the way out caugh some of Carlo's set in the Orange room..... he is SOOOOO talented, can not wait to see him in the KH 2nite.

PS Sharam sucks and bored the crap outta me just like he does every time he is here, i wish he would stop getting booked here as i would prefer to watch paint dry then listen to him again.

Well, since i was with u most of the night, your review is pretty much my review. I'm SO GLAD we went early for Tocadisco, he was GREAT. Def. the best set of the night for me. I am still pissed about him opening, he deserved to play for a PACKED ROOM...not an empty one (def. didn't help that the main room opened LATE), but what can u do. I had little interest in seeing Kaskade in Guv, he's NOT a Guv DJ in my eyes. I hope to catch him on another boat cruise this summer though....where he's better suited Joee Cons in the Orange Room def. delivered. I also had no interest in Angello or Sharam, and opted for M&S in the drink instead. I was super excited to see them back in there, where they never disappoint me...and didn't. The locals def. played a big part in making Decadence what it was.

I had an amazing time at this event. Saw tons of friends, danced my ass off even though i couldn't tell u a single track that was played. It was messy, it was worth it, it was another incredible guv night. Glad I ignored the so-so line-up and went

Review Time

All in all I had a great time

We got in at 11:20, and very quickly found out Tocadisco had just started 10 minutes as the Main room opened. Tocas set was not what I would call great by any means personally I found his transitions awkward at times and I think he talks to much lol
However considering he had no one warming up the crowd for him, he brought a ridiculous amount of energy to the room and set the stage for everyone one else to follow.
I was also very glad to hear Sidney Samson Riverside .

During this time we also flipped back and forth between orange room which was always fun. But like Tara I checked out Perry Ferrell in KH and that was a big wtf, are you kidding me People were standing around in circles, I could not see one person dancing it was scary screaming and confetti no thanks

Now as for the discussion about set times we had before hand. IMO it worked really well as Kaskade was able to weave Tocas Party style through into some light flufft house as he brought it a little deeper and harder towards the end for Sharam to come on

I have heard lots of great things about Kaskade before this but never had the chance to experience him, I agreed at first that I would have liked to see him play a smaller venue, but I think he did great with such a large crowd. Also the fact he played a few older tracks really got me going.

So Sharams entrance hmmm no comment, but I dindt mind what he played at all but it didnt keep me completely enthralled by this time I set out on an adventure to find someone who had forgotten there phone ugh! ( tisk tisk lol) so I went in to see Crookers figuring they were some where in that mess they were fun high energy . I then made my way back into the Guv through that horrid tent . Such a wonderful Idea.stayed checked out a bit more of Sharam and back to Crookers I went to find for another attempt to find some people and caught the last half an hour of there set oh that place when Day N Night came on oh dear lord the jumping the jumping made me feel a bit sick .

But what really made me feel sick was seeing Steve Aoki come on ugh I got out of there fast to be reunited with some friends and spent the rest of the night between the patio / main room/ Deluxe/ acid lounge /orange room

Steve Angello was on and off for me . I heard him play lots of great tracks but around 6 AM everything started to become very meh and sound the same, I the energy that was in the room the whole night was now gone I wasnt complaining I kind of felt like it was time to go anyways.

I also caught the end of Carlo Lios Closing and it was probally my next favorite set to Kaskade it fit my mood perfectly Over all fun night . I ran into lots of people from highschool / uni ( it was entertaining haha especially seeing one wondering into Carlo Lio looking so confused wondering where Steve Aoki went ahah :haha

Thank you to everyone that was apart of this night

Ps. B4 I FORGET one of my highlights of the night ... where these two guys who climbed up ontop of the patio canopy area, and lied down (loked like they were sleeping) and tehn getting chased by security ahaha
