actually in 94 they made it to the 2nd round..and the thing abt US is that its a country made up of many nationalities and different heritages...everyone is an immigrant in the US and Canada except for maybe the natives...so usually with north american soccer when the world cup roles around most ppl cheer for their home country...and im just complaining because i believe it was an unfair game...we lost due to bad refreeing bad coaching and bad luck....so now germany all the way baby!!!

i'm sooo happy korea knocked off italy! i was so sick of italians and their cocky views towards soccer! trappatoni's statement before the tournament that noone can beat them and that they're taking the cup made me puke... ugh!

Shit, I'm glad that Italy is out. All that whining and talk about the FIFA policy is total BULLSHIT. They just can't handle the defeat, that's all. Referees makes mistakes, Belgium lost a clear goal against Brazil,so did Denmark at first stage and other teams has been oppressed as well. True Italy had no luck at this worldcup but still they got into 1/8 finals and lost to Korea because the too defensive tactics. I can't understand why Italy plays so defensive football, they have really talented and skillful players so why to kill all that creativity and potential?

What comes to Korea, they have developed a lot and I've never been so happy after a football match, heh wonder why . All the Korean players are in fantastic shape and Hiddink has built a wonderful disciplined team that gives 110% everytime. They play in extreme limits and home advantage makes it possible. Stupid to say that it doesn't matter if you play home or away, it does matter a lot. I'm not surprised about this result and I think Korea has a good chance against Spain too, Good luck.

damn i see alot of anger here haha.. but hey honestly i didnt think korea could get this far...actually nobody did. When i was in korea for the world cup in france 4 years ago... their main goal was to get to the next round...16 haha. On commericals u would see them cheering for a win of a single game instead of like other countires which root for the win of the tournament. thats kinda sad and since they were the co host this year they were probably scared shitless cuz never was there a hosting team that didnt make the first round. But from watching the games back in the states this year, they did improve alot. B4 they just hit to the front get it stolen run back but now they actually make connecting passes... haha and look how far they got with something that simple. But if u think home advantage doesnt make a difference?!... did u see the crowd? if u watch the news u'd understand the kind of energy their getting from the crowd. bad calls, the "money" theory,etc, whatever i just think its a miracle they got this far... something that happens once in a lifetime and im sorry that im missing it back here in the states

I live in USA and in school almost every single koreans wore a red shirt with a flag on their hands....it has also been infested to white boys and shit LoL...they probably dont even know why their wearing that color!!...fucking jocks

imo, i thought the italians played better and showed more skill.
but if you look at the goals by the koreans, they just happened

how many of you actually are FANS of soccer? and how many of you are just happy that your home nation won? This korean kid at my school came to school with a big korean flag and waved it all around school the whole day. He doesn't even like soccer and always makes fun of it by calling it "not a real sport" etc.

His team did deserve to win. The team that plays better deserves to win. That's generally how things work in life. I think italy should get extra props for making it that far even though someone high up in FIFA didn't want them to....

i agree with you up until blaming the officials at the end... teams always get unlucky with the officiating, it's just that we got it at the wrong time... remember euro 2000, 10 men and two penalty shots again the netherlands?? we still prevailed... we were just unfortunate this tournament and caught a lucky team at home...

I wasn't really referring to the korea match about the referriing. There were some questionable calls, especially near the end, but thats not what I'm attributing to Italy's loss. I was just referring more to the croatia game... there is no way those calls were justified and I think the ref was forced to make those calls... voluntarily or involuntarily.

ah yes, good point, that was pure bullshit i agree... but it does happen to other teams... we just really got unlucky against korea.. it should never have happened regardless, no doubt about it...

• Play to WIN (unlike the italian team, who play not to lose)

• totally dominated the last 25 minutes of the second half + overtime
  
• They don't fall to the ground crying for a penalty kick when they know it's not a faul (schwalbe!), unlike TOTTI who deserved the red card just for being a crybaby
  
• They aren't pussy crybaby's (not saying the italians are pussies, but crybabies, yes...)
  
• they play with honor, and are good losers, as opposed to SORE LOSERS!

totti did not deserve that red card, that was pure bs... of course, leave it to the italian haters to turn things around. Totti got the red card and then got pissed (understandably), not the other way around.
