my dad's wife made it clear she had to have a tiffanys ring. lol it's small though i mean my dad does alright and is in the 6 figure bracket but he certainly can't afford a 3kt tiffanys ring so she got like a 1kt i think. whatever it's little but she doesn't care, it HAD to be tiffanys. for the amount of money he spent, he probably could have gotten her a rock from like mayors or something. oh well everyone is different. when it comes to diamonds, i'm more of a quantity over quality. fuck quality, it's a big sparkly rock you wear on your finger...who gives a shit how "pure" it is or whate brand name it is

I'd rather have something original. Get me something with pearls and diamonds (like the necklace I got for the holidays ) or something... or if all diamonds, an unusual design. I don't need fancy, I just want something that looks like you put a LITTLE more effort into it that "that one."

and 17sss, don't get me wrong - I'd be freaking showing off that ring to anyone who could see (the one you bought)

what is wrong with getting another stone in general and bypass that diamond look entirely? also, your dad got hosed if he went to tiffany's, yes they get good stones but so do other places if you take the time to look. not saying you should go to zales or a store like that but paying for tiffany's is like asking to be screwed.

Amazing how much the price increases for rings with the Tiffany name on them. I remember talking to a guy at Mayors when I was shopping around, and he showed me the documentation on how they get their diamonds from the same distributer that Tiffany's does. Mark-up madness!

I want to acquire wealth doing something I love. I want to reach a point in life where money is never a concern. But I never want money to become the focus of my life.

my uncle did that with his wife. she loves purple and amethyst so she has a huge amethyst rock with some little diamonds around it and the band is really cool and detailed.

personally, i'm really big on the crystal thing. crystals sparkle beautifully and are so much cheaper than diamonds. i'm with sarah, i'd want something original...like a huge crystal and then maybe our birth stones as side stones or something cool like that.

oh well i'll take whatever he buys, but he knows i'm not into the fancy diamond shit and that i like crystals.

I taught him "POD" a long time ago. Said if he was ever gonna get me jewelry, stick with Pearls, Opals, and Diamonds lol any combination or any of them, and I'd be happy

i didn't want to say anything, but yea im not a fan of the band on the diamond ring. it takes away from the diamond. the skinnier the band, the more the diamond stands out.

id choose the band.
but like i said, white gold & thin. i hate having to take rings off- i like to shower in them & i also hate when it has a big gem or pearl & im all worried cos i keep banging it against windows & stuff lol
