You have never actually seen Ableton, have you?

I don't know if the fixed it but it was nasty last time I tried it. |
Do you have any examples? Frequency analysis? It would be interesting to see. Timestretching is everywhere these days and sometimes it sounds like absolute shit even at 0.0% pitch (shouldn't even be on, eh?)

for a second there i thought it was going to be a piece on how Benny Benassi felt when everyone started to copy his style.

No, they're not. I have a 5.1 version of this model and have been very satisfied with them over the years, for their size and their price (paid around $55 a number of years ago). They do distort at high volumes and the subwoofer now is a little boomy (torn or rotten foam?)
They're obviously not top of the line, but they're well made, I even DJed my very first house party on them and they handled OK. They survived a number of falls too. Good computer speakers, especially for a dorm room, but if you REALLY want to hear quality and have big sound, get bulkier and more expensive bookshelf speakers. I have to say that I haven't made much use of the 5.1 feature, so 2.1 would be a good way to go. I am, actually, using them in my office these days and had to turn the woofer all the way down so that it doesn't bother anyone

Tks. It's just for the PC at home, for listening to music, gaming, and eventually some half-assed mixes.

Half-assed will be OK, but... good equipment makes a difference. When I got myself a pair of good headphones, I thought "wow, these sound good" and from that moment on most of my transitions were done in-headphones with little reference by the speakers.
After bringing a good set of speakers out of the dead recently, and finally, FINALLY putting them to about ear level, I was amazed at how my transitions improved because I could hear more. Even better than with headphones (Sony MDR-V6, by the way).
So, good quality, and good placement will make a difference in mixes. Kind of like buying a 1080p TV and sitting way too far from it so that it actually gives you the resolution of a 720p TV.
But for games and music, you'll be just fine.

Best thing i've heard this year, whole-heartedly agree. Personally i couldnt care less if the quality is bad if the song kicks ass, its not important to me

The people listening to music of shitty quality are most likely those that also think deadmau5 makes good music. It's not like he even has intricacies in his music that warrant WAV playback - god forbid you should hear that kick-clap-kick-clap in 128kbps.

There are two kinds of people that annoy me:
1. People who actually listen to music on youtube, don't care about audio quality issues and haven't got the slightest clue about resolution, bitrates etc.
2. Delusional so-called audiophiles who claim to perceive all this extra resolution and detail just because the specs on their gear says so.

Listening to music shitty quality has nothing to do with thinking that deadmau5 makes good music IMO.
I hate bad quality, so I guess that must mean I think deadmau5 makes crap?
Actually I don't have an opinion about him.

"Two kinds" doesn't mean "only two kinds", as far as i know. But perhaps it does have such a connotation.
You have not yet been taken into consideration for inclusion in the list. As a courtesy you will, in strict compliance with organizational policy, be notified of a possible inclusion no longer than two months after the decision has been ratified by the board.
Organizational policy is subject to change.
