Our parties are better!

I got a little confused. Are you saying LA area massives are like that? If so, what massives are you talking about? (if not, forget the rest of the post)

Unless you were trying to get front and center, there is usually a decent amount of room at most LA area massives. Even during the most crowded moment of EDC this year, when they had to shut off the music in the Coliseum in order to clear the field a bit, there was still plenty of room in the back of the field and in the stands.

90% muscle heads drunk? More like 90% people very high and very friendly on other party favors.

Life in danger? Perhaps when the massives are held in the LA Sports Arena there are so many people inside that it would constitute a fire hazard. But I never felt threatened by other people.

I've been to some clubs that match your description, but not raves.

That's true. But I wonder how much the tickets will cost by then.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way. Can't a person express an opinion with being attacked by R!CH, the rice-a-roni beast?!?!

I'm just hating on how the raves there are done. Why can't they figure out that they can have less people and not have a fire hazard and have it get shut down EVERY YEAR

I totally agree that some of the LA massives are fire hazards. For example, Monster Massive and Together As One at the LA Sports Arena during the past year... if there was a big fire on the stage, I wonder how many would die in the stampede to get out let alone die due to smoke inhalation (although I assume there is a good sprinkler system in place).

During TAO, access to the ground level was cut off fairly early in the night due to so many people moving down from the 2nd and 3rd levels.

But these dangers are present in any major indoor event in which the ground level is being used.

With or without the lineup it will be physically impossible to experience all your favorite djs or check out new ones during this week.

The combination of the parade + floats during the festival and parade alone are overwhelming.

Come Saturday night most 120+ nightclubs will be slammed to capacity, this doesn't even include the 10-15+ undergrounds that will be going on at the same time. Plus there are amazing events Wednesday - Friday prior and all day Sunday.

This is SF, every music lover will represent with a good party.

Gangster Glitch, Psy Phi House, Bar Mitzvah Breaks, Acid Funk Techno, Whatever

Burners, Ravers, Clubkids? No...EDM music lovers unite, take over a city and conquer it for almost a week straight

You will not find an experience that comes close to it in this country.

What city do you know of in this country that says sure why not shut down our biggest and busiest street, also feel free to use City Hall as a VIP staging area for guests?

A person may be going for the DJs at first, but I will safely assume by the end of the week you'll be talking about all your personal experiences much more, the amazing vibe and all the crazy things you seen.

This is an opportunity...a celebration...a representation of our music culture through so many diverse aspects to show what we're truly about.

As for the official afterparty? What sets it apart is that other massives build their vibe throughout the event. The official afterparty is literally on site, you have to walk a mere 50 ft just to open the door. The energy from outside goes indoors and the madness kicks in when the music and amazing production begin. It's like experiencing something new, realizing what you've been through all day to get there.

The event practically rages 16 hours straight with the official afterparty and it doesn't even have to stop there

I'm assuming Sunset and Stompy will do another event that goes into Monday

Save your money and keep it in the OC.

Well said Alain!
There is nothing like this event in Cali, and nothing of this type in the US!
If you love music and friendly people this I must see event!
People already bought plane tickets! Why not buy pre sales.... It will be worth seeing whatever it is!

what the fuck

i'm being serious and here you are antagonizing me as some sort of packaged food monster. i think you will regret not staying home in the oc raving in your bedroom to asot making glow stick angels in your bed while 100,000 real people descend on the streets of sf for a real party. so i'm begging you to do the right thing. think of the glow stick angels. would you give all that up for a weeklong rager with an unknown afterparty lineup???
