The good news is: Markus played the best set I have heard in awhile! And he played till 4:30 am
Bad news is: I can see the sunrise and I won't be home for two more hours! And I work 11-9. No sleep for me!
Dave I got a funny pic of you

last night / this morning was full of awesome!

My throbbing knee tells me so!

What an awesome night

Thanks to everyone for another great Spundae night

Here's a recording of my opening set, enjoy!

ALAIN OCTAVO - LIVE @ RUBY SKYE, JULY 17TH

on the whole i liked alain's set better than markus'. markus started off very strong with proggy, techy sounds, which got me all excited, then he veered off into trancey anthems as the night wore on, which left me standing around. if he played like his first hour the whole night, that would have been something!

skwallie, here's that set you wanted from my car...

http://www.intellexual.net/edm/sets...%20Part%201.mp3

01. Maurice & Noble - Hoochie Coochie Man
02. Client - Radio - Cicada Dub
03. Sean Walsh pres Jagermaestro - Quarter Century
04. Ava Mea - In the End
05. ID
06. DJ Remy vs Tom McRae - You Only Disappear
07. Mike Foyle pres Statica - For Your Eyes Only

ya... jenn and i left after the second hour to get some drinks then back in for another 30 minutes. im over schulz now. he is always going to cater to the trance anthem crowd... i guess it was nice hearing satellite for the millionth time

Fun night but thought the first half of the night musically was better than the last half. Alain pwned the opener and Markus started with more prog/tech but like Rich said, got too fluffy and vocally towards the end. Wished the lighting could have been a bit better, needed some use of the flood lights since the packed crowd was going nuts the entire night.

OMG OMG OMG! I can't believe I made it out!!! What a blessing. I had SUCH a great time. Awesome set for a whopping 4.5 hours!!!

Great to see everyone! You all really made me smile. And I love seeing all your smiles and dancing with you. :]

Thank you to my friends who helped make it possible for me to enjoy the night.

I am a trance lover if you haven't noticed. So I loved his heavy prog stuff and lived the trance he played too! I was wearing my Above & Beyond shirt and he played a lot of their tracks. Around the end of hour two I think it was I got bored of the slow quiet stuff he was spinning. I liked the heavier beats. I think 2:30-3:30 am was the best though....
I am sad I didn't get to meet any of you. I probrably bumped into a few of you. I was in my white A&B shirt dancing like a crazy man even though I was 100% sober the WHOLE NIGHT.
I couldn't find my camera but I will post a few of my iPhone pics later. I also used someone elses camera to take pics for them an gave him my email. So maybe some from there....

Also, it was kinda corny, but I liked that he used his own visuals and put lyrics up. I was mostly just glad not to have the terrible Ruby Skye visuals that are always so old weird video skipping around in fast forward or whatever. Use something more smooth that fits trance.....

well guys, i heard that markus tore it up. reason why i can say that "i heard" even though i was there...was b/c my gf drank too much and 45 minutes into his set, i had to check into a $$$ hotel 1 minute away from the club. well, the whole time i was watching espn in the hotel from 1-4am, my group of friends would text me the songs being played...and damn, mustve been fun! oh well, at least i can say i heard him play for a very lil bit. anyways, my big group of 12 other friends had a blast. the 2 or 3 trance newbies from my group of friends had so much fun. one friend, whos never been to a trance club said "i thoroughly had fun the whole night...i would definitely go again"

but damn, im sad i missed the whole night. i saw the videos and pictures of my brothers camera... =(

well, i did leave the hotel since she passed out on the bed...and i had to go back and get my credit card from my brother from the tab i accidentally left open. thus, im sort of glad i left my tab open, and left my credit card, cuz it gave me a cool 5 minutes to be in the club and find my brother...and what do u know...he started to spin DAYDREAM. thus, i got to hear a very cool song before i left.

but yeah thanks for the advice...none taken. i already told her shes not invited to hang out next time. she was understanding...but deep down probably a lil bit pissed when i said that.

Markus posted this on his twitter after the gig...

"SF, you wore me out. Ruby Sky feels like home. I need to recover quickly. Flying to Denver in 5 hours."

He also said all the hills between Sac & SF look like boobs, lol

A lot of headliers bring their own DVD to play up on the screen. Markus has always done this, but this time he had a video mixer on stage so he could go between the video and the DVDJs.
