The pacific northwest roughly exports half the commodities that california does at 6.1% of the US commodities trade, with california at 12.8%.
Thats according to: http://www.ers.usda.gov/StateFacts/
Combined thats almost 19% of the entire US commodities trade. The percentage of commodities that move through our ports on the other hand I would assume is much much higher.
Well shit I was way off. Still, 13% of the total us agriculture is huge.

One way I hope to do so is mentioned in the above post with a group that could really research the feasibility of such an endeavor if it ever be undertook.
the L.A. port is one of the easiest targets for an attack. terroists could get weapons from north korea and it could be delivered right through the LA port. it's so big there is no way they can monitor every crate that goes through that port.
