cryophonik - not interested
kitphilips - not interested
fledz - haven't heard one way or the other
alanzo (not active enough these days though) - not sure..?

Most of those people have said they aren't interested. Unfortunately, given that we've decided that theres only going to be two new mods, I don't think I can keep up with it either.

So I guess if cryophonik isn't interested, everyone should just vote using the poll I created and we'll use those results.

Screw hardline modding, threads with no juice in them are no fun to read, each trolling is made on a high quality level, I like it much more than clean threads with no soul.

Bring it on, bitchez.

I know that there are other issues, the occasional spam or dupe thread, but 80/20 rule, no?

Yes, pretty much.
Crono - You have broken rules, the main one being that you disrupt the forum. Any thread you post in becomes derailed and after a while you can't say that it's not your fault and that people are just ganging up on you. It is your fault.

We need a mod because every once in a while someone like you pops up and ruins general feeling and quality of threads in the forum. It's pretty much the same thing on any forum.

You said that you will just keep coming back. Well guess what? You'll just be banned again and again. Anyone that has been a mod on any active forum has come across your type more than a handful of times and sadly for everybody, the best course of action is to get rid of your type because you just cause unnecessary trouble and then constantly refer back to the rules and how you're not doing anything wrong. Doesn't work that way mate. People have a limited tolerance and even generally the most tolerant people will eventually get sick of you. When that happens, it's time to go. Either willfully or through repeated bans.

The last few months have proven that this forum cannot self regulate enough mainly because of your negative input. Yes, most of the people in here are great and pretty heated discussions are fine, but when it gets extremely heated and ruins the forum, you need someone to be there and clean up the shit. Currently there is no one. Swamper doesn't visit here much which would also make him unsuitable to mod effectively (due to not being used to the posters) which leaves us with no one, and because of that we lose valuable members due to people like you.

But do you want to mod?

Posted by Fledz on Aug-05-2009 10:50:

I'll mod if no one else is capable or wants to, but since I got banned for that whole Spring/Sprung/Sprang thing in the c0r the chances are mighty slim.
I've done it before and I visit this forum regularly. It wouldn't be any additional work.

If you want that then go to the COR.

Threads in the production sub-forum don't need "juice in them" to still be fun to read.

Fixed. Don't argue and there won't be any problems, correcting someone isn't an argument either.

Posted by Fledz on Aug-05-2009 11:38:

Have you ever stopped to wonder why they are arguing with you?
I'm sure everyone is out to get you and they are all wrong.

Posted by sixofour.604 on Aug-05-2009 11:40:

The more they argue me the more it seems like I'm the trouble maker?

Or it could just be that RANN and Diginut have the attitudes of hippos. They are the worse mannered people on this forum.

People like to argue I guess. Right or wrong has about nothing to do with it, correcting someone doesn't require arguement.

----

Person A: I like the reeese sound, its made with a saw osc

Diginut: YOU FUCKING DUMBASS PEICE OF SHIT, ITS MADE WITH A SINE WAVE YOU MORON

DJ RANN: aw wtf, this guy [person a] is still talking?

Random Dude: What a jackass

That Guy: Uh oh, person a derailed the thread again.

----

Not the nicest way to correct someone.

It's more like:

Someone: 2 + 2 = 4

You: 2 + 2 doesn't always have to equal 4, that's just what popular practice has taught you. Personally I think anyone is an idiot to just accept that 2 + 2 = 4 just because they are told so or that's what they read on the Internet. People were making 2 + 2 = various number for years before mathematicians made this standard popular.

Someone: ... no, you fucking idiot, 2 + 2 simply equals 4.

You know the funny part, for all these dumbass arguments that occur about production, I'm still producing music like anyone else. I didn't know that someone who was wrong about everything could do that.

Nobody said you couldn't. That doesn't mean you aren't capable of giving bad advice or misinformation.

If a Formula 1 driver told me that spark plugs were irrelevant and unnecessary in a gasoline engine, I wouldn't believe him. Doesn't mean he can't drive.

Posted by sixofour.604 on Aug-05-2009 12:10:

Would you call him a dumbass or would you explain to him why he is wrong? And now you know the difference between a few users here, and most. If people would act civilized and drop the name calling and insinuations, we could all get along. Despite how "bad" I may look, the majority of threads I join, I have no issues in.

Depends on how many times he did it.

you need to realise that people do things for a reason. you have a bullshit oppinion on almost _EVERYTHING_ and you persist on arguing it, despite clear and obvious evidence that it is incorrect or innacurate. this is how we get shitstorms of threads, where it is you vs. 15 others. this is how we get "we need mods ASAP" theads, from the actions of one person. it is you, not us. people can only tolerate that for so long, which is why people like diginut and dj rann just jump down your throat immediately. it also doesn't help that you have a completely fucked up perspective on topics such as race and sexuality. the point of civilised debate has long since passed and you are responsible for things getting the way they are now. it's also up to you whether or not they continue.

Quoted for truth.

Sadly, this is usually how it goes down.

On almost _EVERY_ argument I have been, I haven't been wrong, music production isn't an exact science, if it works, then it works, it doesn't matter what books say. What do you think the whole point of me saying people like to argue is about? As much as you would like to think "the problem" is just me and by removing me there are no problems, you have to realize I'm someone from the outside who comes in to this niche community on TA. Where I find some of the strangest and most absurd things imaginable. I cannot blame you, its human nature to assume that the majority aren't the problem, as you have done. That is why we have wars and such where a large group of people kill a smaller group. And in this case, I'm the only one on these borads saying what I am saying, and sadly, for you atleast, being the only one saying something, is not an indication about its validity or truth. Infact, its fallacious.

Its sad debating people whos only evidence "that I am wrong" is the number of people who disagree with me. [And I am the simple one?]

Besides, I have the best views on sexuality and race. And I am better than you.

You just don't get it or you do and you just want to troll. Hence why you need to be banned, at least from this forum.

When you walk by an ant hill, do you reason with them and act civilized? Or do you step on them and go somewhere else when it gets boring?

I agree with the latter half of your statement. However, you DISMISS USEFUL INFORMATION AS FALLACY. Nobody is saying "YOU HAVE TO DO THIS" or "YOU HAVE TO DO THAT". But, you are saying "that information is irrelevant" or "that's completely wrong" when that is simply not true.

You simply don't understand what it is you are doing that is causing problems.

I subscribe to the line of thought that "if it sounds good, it is good." But, that doesn't mean that everyone is wrong for not working the same way that you do, for fuck's sake... nor does it mean that established standards, theories, and practices should be thrown out just because you want to be oh-so-non-conformist.

The argument relates to their usefulness, not their requirement. And, when you begin to spread actual misinformation, I should think that correction of the error is in order. This prevents others from making mistakes, which is part of the usefulness of this forum.

This is not hard to understand.

I'm not saying you should be banned, I'm just saying that you should not talk out of your ass.

Posted by sixofour.604 on Aug-05-2009 13:36:

This does not translate well case by case though. I don't go around saying "I'm right, you are wrong". At most, I'm guilty of saying someone is wrong because they act like a dumbass. Its not even the "wrong or right" part of it that seems to be the problem. Remember what the issue is, I post something, people feel the need to argue about it, and 10 pages later the thread is all but gone. I suppose for myself, I need to work on not responding to dilweeds. I have no problem admiting I'm wrong on things, ive been wrong a few times, acoustic treatment thread, bitrate, and yeah, even part of the latency issue. But i'm not going to admit that to an asshole.

I have way too much time on my hands.

Fair enough, your opinion is your opinion, but presenting misinformation as fact is probably not the way to go about handling that.

I disagree... it's the entire problem, IMO.

I agree, but this happens because you say things that are false, and when confronted, you continue to argue your point (as do they... but, they're right...lol).
