I forgot it was 'pretend you're an expert on a foreign military' day. my bad.

Hey, nothing against your soldiers at all. My beef is with your government (all of them) who for countless decades have treated your marines like cannon fodder. It's the 21st century, they can't just throw numbers at the enemy any more and hope to win.

it is not need, it is want. Getting rid of germs is just not for me, it is for the consideration of others as well.

I wash them before I go if I am out because herpes can live for 30 minutes on objects at room temperature and can be spread to your hands and then your groin.

i usually spread them (herpes) from my groin to my hands...i then like to make my co workers sammiches.

I am sorry but you are full of shit on this topic sir.

I have known a number of marines, my cousin was a marine, and I have also know many people in the army as well. All of them good people.

But from my experience dealing with both, the marines are a whole hell of let more deserving of respect than most grunts in the army.

I am not trying to castrate the whole US army here, but a lot of the guys that serve in basically what would be the same MOS as a marine basic infantry in the US army are a whole hell of a lot less mature.

Also if you could poll Iraqis on which service branch they would have wanted in their city it would be the marines.

When the US army took over patrolling towns and stuff they basically ignored all the things that the marines had been doing, like building relationships with local tribal leaders, letting people out at night (way later or no curfew) and basically being hospitable people. The US army rolled in and shut things down and thats when the huge public backlash agains the US forces started to form.

So yea, lay off the marines.

I wash my hands in public restrooms all the time, even using the paper towel to turn off the faucet if its not an automatic one.

At home though I usually do not wash my hands if I don't piss on my hands.

Just for the record, it's useless to brush your teeth as well. Your mouth can clean itself thanks to the substances found in your saliva, and there are some sprinklers under the tongue that spray germicide all over your mouth. The germicide is a bit corrosive, though, and you may get a cavity or two after a while. But hey, think of all the minutes you waste doing something as pointless as brushing and flossing!
